Black ice alert down here. Yikes temp dropped 5 degrees in 2 hrs
Saw Rt 6 East closed at the top of the hill just east of I 395 when I got on the Hwy; a few white knuckle moments in the ride but my cat like reflexes came in handy! Lol

00z EPS are pretty skimpy for SNE. There’s a few decent members but definitely a lot less than the 12z run which isn’t a surprise when looking at the warmth of 00z OP run.
06z GFS was another continuity break. Goes back to the Dec 6th idea which would be a colder look…but that idea has the least cross-model support and even the 06z GEFS aren’t that enthused.
I think we’re gonna want to see some colder solutions on the 12z runs today to realistically entertain plowable snow in SNE.
Never mind plowable snow would just like to see a coating here to start the season

Looks like very light snow on radar in the Hartford area, I think we see flakes tonight.
You have a much better shot

38F here, no chance of frozen here in the valley, but NW side of town towards Pomfret/Hampton might have a shot

I think it was Tday 1989 I remember getting about 6".
89 we got that but in 87 at least in southern ORH county we had rain to sleet; miserable day.

It's also 6-7 days out so op runs can still be wild. We ensemble for now. I wouldn't bash an op run over 6 days out for how it performed.
Not sure what the exact set up was for TDay in 87 but we went from cold rain to a pellet fest for a couple inches; I could see that type of scenario

Down to 24F so far, some solid Nov cold.

Time to fire up the Hugh Millen/Tommy Hodson era at QB again....the winters are matching.
There’s a whole generation of people of have no idea about this era of Pats history! We grew up with it and know how good things have been hence the last 20 years and I have no issues with some down years now; others are running for Zakim not sure what is happening.

There was a good snow to ice storm in the interior on Tday 1985 too....and of course the warning snow event in Nov 1980.....seems like the '80s were decent for November and spring snows, but were pathetic for actual winter snow.....lol.
Remember traveling back in from TDay game in 1985 in S ORH county and went from heavy rain to solid pellet fest!
