  1. By us, we usually get leaf drop this time of year. My weeping cherry is usually the first and there is some type of tree leading into our development that always has significant leaf drop. I think the typical dry spells and heat cause it. It is not leaves changing...it the trees shedding to conserve energy and water, as I understand it.
  2. Great day for my air conditioner to take a dive (again). Wonderful.
  3. Just came home and had to turn the heat on too.. :-/
  4. Wow...just had one of the strongest gusts in a long time. Whole house cracked and the cat got scared and ran off.
  5. We were down in Philly today and it was gorgeous in the early afternoon. I am guessing around 60F and sunny. By the time we got back to CNJ this evening, around 5:30, it was 48F and blustery. Now, 37F.
  6. It's all about the shadows. My neighbor has a pile-o'-snow that is on its last legs too.
  7. Anything that they do not like, they call "fraud". Fuck them. This is going to have dangerous impact on aviation and shipping.
  8. I ride motorcycles with a group of guys and we usually have few days with that January thaw to ride. Not this year. Some of them got out, but those days were only 40-43 degrees with risk of road salt, so I opted out.
  9. Need a 'nothingburger' emoji. Got a coating and then changed to rain. Non-event. Roads were slightly slippery when snow started sticking but quickly disappeared as they salted or we had the changeover.
  10. I just went to see if I could scrape the driveway. No bueno. Frozen 1" crust. I will wait until it warms a bit more. Last night, I stepped out on the porch around 11pm. It was pretty much straight freezing rain at that time. Earlier it was a very hard sleet hitting the window. For the times that I did look out the window, it was never snow. Just sleet.
  11. 31 degrees and just a coating. Sounded like quite a bit of sleet hitting the windows about 20 minutes ago. Calmed a bit now
  12. I wish I had not seen that...LOL. Tempting!
