  1. The AFD mentioned that the all-time warmest low for Annapolis was 92, on 7/7/94. That is what was in the official records, but the observation has to be some sort of glitch. Patuxent River had a low of 74 on that date. That 92 should never have made it into the AFD; it's so clearly bogus it doesn't pass the smell test!
  2. Also, to hell with Bad Gateway Errors!
  3. To hell with 73 degree dewpoints. To hell with warm fronts. To hell with walking half an hour home carrying a 12-pack of Cigar City Jai Alai and a frozen pizza. To hell with sweat pouring down my face and making my eyes burn. Let me sleep until autumn.
  4. The forecast was for "showers." I don't think nonstop rain since 8 a.m. really qualifies as a shower.
  5. My luck finally ran out: I had to walk home through the heaviest part of the insane monsoon flooding cell in central Fairfax County. Never again!
  6. It may be drier than yesterday, but 63-degree dewpoints still feel pretty miserable when you have a half-hour's walk home from the supermarket, carrying 20 pounds of groceries!
  7. Nice rainbow to the east
  8. Sky brightening, lightning to the east, all the heavy rain E of Gallows Road.
  9. Sky starting to lighten to the west
  10. On radar, looks like the white area is on top of me.
  11. 9:30 pm darkness, VERY heavy rain, powerful wind, distant thunder
  12. 75 dewpoint at Dulles. Real Miami weather.
  13. Couple of little rain showers here in Merrifield. No thunder or lightning.
  14. Funny that IAD only hit 93. We don't usually see that much high temp variation unless there's an active front.
  15. Yesterday was trash night, and the 50mph gusts blew plenty of cardboard and plastic garbage into the middle of the street and into my yard!
  16. First 70-degree dewpoint of the year. Booo!!
  17. 10 out of 10 so far this month! I wish it could be like this till October.
  18. This overcast and Brazilian humidity can't end soon enough.
  19. I'm thoroughly tired of the rain too. I don't drive; I walk everywhere or use public transit, so I don't much care for rain at all.
  20. Memorial Day weekend 1996 was like this.
  21. Big jump in humidity. Dewpoint up to 64.
  22. The little ice age has come back.
  23. A couple of dustings and a little freezing drizzle in December, after that absolutely nothing, not even any false alarms, due to continuous warmth (dewpoints above 60 on January 8!!) Edited to add: Dulles' *low* on 1/8/98 was an incredible 62!
