I was actually out for an early morning run (4am hour) this morning but never saw it despite clear skies. I was looking towards the northeastern horizon for it as I ran.

It might be an evening thing this week instead of a morning one...

  2. Has anyone stepped outside to see the Comet yet? The previous week you could see it really early in the morning, Tomorrowish you’ll be able to see it in the evening once it’s dark.

Winter 20-21 couldn't possibly be worse than last winter, right?

No... it can’t be... All the kids usually want snow so school will close, but if school is online, then it will snow 3 feet each week because you cannot really close online school. Calling it now.

    Its almost mid July.

About time for a Winter 2020-21 discussion thread isn't it? Never too early to speculate about the next disaster. So many ways to fail..

The southeastern one started one in January, and they’ve had better winters recently than we have!

If it meets the definition of a storm then it gets a name it's that simple.

Agree about the winter storm naming nonsense though.

Aren’t the winter storms named by one of the point and click weather apps so they get website traffic to their website?

I think sunscreen is a pain in ass, but I wish I had worn more of it as a youngster. I had basal cell removed about 5 years ago and fortunately the hole that they took from my face was right on my smile line so there’s no scar. As invincible as I felt in my early life, I’m doubly humble now.

It is, I think with being outside constantly, that fifteen minutes or so after I put it on is enough time where the new sunscreen isn’t working yet, but I’m still able to get burnt. It’s just this small covering between my shirt and my neck covering too. Maybe time for a hat.

Water temps in the Chesapeake bay are around 80F, with low-mid 70s (really warm for this time of year) at OCMD

There are Jellyfish out already... got stung early this year...

  8. Summer birthdays are the better ones, but birthdays in any other season are great because they are an excuse to step back from the mountain of work that sometimes happens. Even better if they happen right before a snowstorm.

On a different note, any day now, the garbage long range monthly models will start messing with us by waving good looking winter months in our face, but we all know they will never happen.

Took these less than a half mile from my driveway. Talk about storms all around. Hopefully something will hit here lol.

Solid proof that having an account on a weather forum causes weather to avoid you. What more do you need?

    Bingo!

Do you ever switch a dish every so often, or maybe add a twist to a meal in the rotation?

Beef is a good choice because you can use it in a bunch of different ways, as shown by the burgers and meatloaf. Didn’t finish the burgers? Break them up, toss them into the spaghet.
It’s all fun and games until you dig some green freezer burnt mystery meat out of the freezer.

I have a 'rotation', usually lasts me 5 days or so each time I fix one. Chili, meatloaf, pot roast (then veggie soup with the leftovers), grill hamburgers (charcoal only), baked spaghetti. I finish up the baked spaghetti today. Now I'll wait and see who notices anything about that rotation....

    Is it very beef forward?

I feel for you. I'm on the sound side in Currituck and it's been brutal. We had the same thing 2 weeks ago when it rained everyday all week long. It's a bummer for the folks that spent all that money to get down here. May be able to salvage Thursday and Friday,  fingers crossed.

Apparently there were a few Portuguese Man O Wars floating up recently... maybe the rain will stop that for a bit and make them go away.
