  1. Nam 12z at 38 hours (when I'm supposed to leave for connecticut) Nam 12z 48 hour snowfall total - Ferrier rime corrected Nam 12z 48 hour 10:1 snowfall total Much bigger difference in the 12z Nam between the ferrier and 10:1 clown maps. In the 6z run, the two were more in line with each other. I recall a previous storm in February where the two diverged, I think we busted.
  2. I have about a half inch of snow and sleet on the roads in my neighborhood, probably a .1 of zr accumulation as well. Lots of small branches down all over my yard.
  3. Snowing pretty heavy right now, really fat flakes with a few pingers mixed in with the sound of it.
  4. North philly looked like it had around 2 inches, maybe 2.5 or 3. It was really hard to tell as the latent heat in the cement/asphalt, deadly sun angle, and the heat island effect, all contributed to decimating the snow that did fall. Took this picture from the 10th floor of the jobsite @ 2nd and norris around 10am as the snow receded. I lived about 16 blocks east when I went to temple.
  5. 6-12" would be great for sun/mon, they've done commercial travel bans for much less this year on 95. I know there was one in effect when I was driving up to N Vermont on 1/8/19 and I dont know if that amounted to much for SNE or NJ. Also, 3am is the heart of the storm, so I dont see them sending us into a full fledged snowstorm, even if its raining here. Not risking my life to fix some crappy concrete floor... especially after seeing all those pileups in the midwest. . Edit: this should have been combined into one comment. Good thing we dont have a mod!
  6. I just was looking at models and realized that, came back to make note of that, but you beat me to it. Plus it's the CMC, so I'll take it with a grain of salt.
  7. My job wants me to go to Connecticut from Chester county at 3am on Monday until thurs. I hope this verifies.
  8. Saw an accident about 2 mins from my house. Decided to take 29, which is flat, and not risk climbing the hill. I'm sure there were a few more if I kept going that way. Backroads are bad, main roads are ok but still some sketchy spots. May have to tow a 3 ton generator to philly with an old crew cab.. thatd be interesting. Still snowing moderately with good flake size.
  9. 3.3" in phoenixville still light to moderate snow hanging on. Edit: 20 mins later and its absolute pixie dust. Calling it at 3.3" Also I finally took the time to update my icon and large profile picture. Edit 2: actually been snowing lightly for another hour. Flake size increased so it may amount to something.
  10. I dont know what thread to put this in, the March 1st or March 3rd event, because really it's that March 2nd event I'm talking about. The 6z 3k NAM is looking pretty good for folks in the NW burbs as mentioned.
  11. Nickle and diming it to average this season. Not sure my total for the year as I was away for a few events. But 3.1inches on the board for phoenixville and it's snowing moderately right now with nice dry flakes of medium size. Love it!! Also start time went from 5am, to 7:30, to 8:30
  12. Terrible quality proof! Somewhere in CNJ looking east of 95. 2/28 ~5:45-6am
  13. Picked up over an inch already I'd say. Most within about an hour and a half. Still snowing moderately with big fat clumped up flakes mixing in with the smaller ones. Possibly letting up but hard to tell when all the flakes are coalescing. Here's a picture, not the best. My phone camera is still damaged despite replacing the camera glass cover, the internal part was also apparently damaged. Breaking your phone through your pocket and case after 2 weeks of ownership is always fun..
  14. Gotcha that makes sense with the differing beam heights. I was wrong too, I already picked up an inch. Eyeballing that from my bed out the window but I'll measure it before I leave. Basically got that within the hour too. Start time was pushed back to 730, hoping traffic isnt a nightmare. The lack of wind and steady snow is so pretty in the flood light of my house as well.
  15. Any chance that band shapes up to the north like it did on the 0Z NAM? Just got outta bed seeing as I need to be up in 40 mins for work. Have about .1 or .2 on the ground. Spitting nice fluffy dendrites right now at a good clip. Will be interesting if we end up sending our trucks out. I don't see 276 getting much more than an inch out of this but we'll seem
  16. I hope you don't look like Pai Mei by the time you get an actual snowstorm. Quick question, is the nudge south seen on some guidance coming from supression via the upper atmosphere or is something else driving that? If so, does that limit the systems ability to strengthen at our latitude? Or am I barking up the wrong tree entirely, again.
  17. Thanks, I definitely misinterpreted you. That makes sense to me now. Hopefully you can get some good snow these next few days.
  18. Ralph, you said the other day that if the systems tonight and saturday are more amplified than predicted, we would be worse off for this Sunday night storm. Is that what's happening now, according to guidance?
  19. The one storm I dont really want as I'm trying to rack up 60-70 hrs this week to help pay for skiing. Bring it on, Monday. I took a pic, it's a bit blurry bc my phone camera is damaged but you can make them out. I'll try to post it later when I can compress it.
  20. 1/4inch for a lot of northern Jersey, nice and pretty with snow covered streets and houses.
  21. Saw three Kelvin Helmholtz clouds east of 95 this morning. Pretty awesome!!
  22. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that! I think it normally runs a few hours behind the old one.
  23. Fv3 is wack, look at these lollis. Maybe it does ok with track but its snowfall algorithms are a weenies wet dream. Edit: You guys have been saying it all winter, this is just a perfect example.
  24. Really I buy the gfs and hope it trends south. We need 36-48 more hours to pin it down so that gives us hope for a southern trend. Hopefully not the likely jog north. Didnt models have this over NC last weekend?
