    22 years ago today was the surprise snowstorm for DC. Also known as the Carolina Crusher. The storm was supposed to miss SE and ended up being a great storm for just about everyone. By the way.     Yeah. Being further east than me you have a better chance to get some of the coastal in Westminster. If I go to my place in OC and they get 30 I know I am not leaving there for at least a week. I was there for an 18 incher and it was a S show for 4 days. I really wish we could get double digits for everyone in the subforum.

    In a strange twist I dont know if I can chase this thing to OC if they are getting 30 inches. I cant get stuck there for a week. No chase due to too much snow. That is a new one.

    Its really not. That is kinda how we do these types of storms. This storm isnt tucking to coast. So we take what we can get.

    Weenie run for the Cape. Geez. We have a few days to decide if we want to chase it somewhere. I think I am going to go to OC for this one.

    A solid 2-4 or 3-6 throughout the subforum. Not gonna complain about that run.

    Maybe a slightly stronger vort this run? Not a huge difference though.

    So far the front end thing is still looking good like it was at 6Z. I am feeling pretty confident about that part at least.

    I have had snowpack here for 20 consecutive days. So I am not going to complain. Of course I would like to freshen it up though.

    I am seriously considering going to the beach for this one. But I dont want to do it if its going to be a miserable cold rainer there. Nothing better than standing on the beach with 35 MPH winds and ripping powder. Change that to rain and it is about as miserable as it gets.

    The one thing I am taking away from the morning runs is the front end is more robust for those of us to the NW. I am thinking 2-4 is a realistic possibility with that part. And 2-4 is better than nothing.

    You are correct that is isnt jumping right over us. The 18Z GFS popped the coastal at the NC/SC border. Which isnt a horrible spot for us if we had some blocking up top. Problem is we dont.

    Its not really a discrepancy. The storm doesnt get fired up in time for our area. But that is what Miller B's do here. So you just have to be realistic. And take what you can get up front.

    It is so frustrating looking at the 500 passes on those 18Z runs and not seeing anything out of it. Every single model has a perfect pass for us. And we get scraps.

    Makes sense for up north. I think its pretty clear someone up there is getting smashed.
