CMC is a bit too far west. Split the difference between that and GFS.

I’m confused. What channel are the Nats on? They aren’t on MASN anymore?
-
I’m giving it a C.
December and February were terrible but January salvaged the winter.

I hate 40deg days. It looks gorgeous out but there's just enough chill to need a coat and I still have to run the wood stove. 50s suck too since they always seem to feature wind around here.
40s and 50s are nice in October, when you’re getting a break from months of 80s and 90s. But they’re no good in spring.

GFS is a nice positive shift. Snow depth maps are a widespread 2-3”.
Looks like almost all sleet here? At least on the WB maps.

Not even pity flakes on the GFS?

It was during my senior year of high school. Living outside of Philly. There was a thunderstorm ongoing when I went to bed on the 12th and when I woke up there was heavy snow blowing drifts up against the front door. We missed school for a long time, mostly because of all the sleet that had made the roads like a minefield.
You must be the same age as me. Graduated high school in 1993. I remember the storm pretty well. Living in central NJ at the time and we lost power and got a good amount of snow. Blizzard of ‘96, however, still takes the cake for me. I was home from college for winter break and we got 30”.

It is interesting to look back and see just how terrible February has been since 2010, at least down here by DC. Since 2010, my house and DCA:
- 2011 (0.3", 0.5")
- 2012 (0.3", 0.3")
- 2013 (0.6", 0.4")
- 2014 (17.9", 11.2")
- 2015 (10.3", 9.8")
- 2016 (4.4", 3.1")
- 2017 (T, T)
- 2018 (1.2", 0.2")
- 2019 (5.1", 3.7")
- 2020 (T, T)
- 2021 (4.4", 2.8")
- 2022 (0.5", T)
Climo is 5" at DCA, meaning that we have exceeded climo fewer times than recording a T over these dozen years. The median is about a half inch!
This January was a B in my opinion, but February has been an F. Absent a March miracle we’re looking at a C- winter.

Too bad. We had the MLK storm that ran too far west, and then tonight which is too far east.
