Not much the canadiens can honestly do on their end. The forests are so remote and Canada as a whole is so sparsely populated that they just don’t have the resources and manpower to do much of significance.

Heating up quick today gonna hit 90 by 11ish

Wouldn’t surprise me if ORD or somewhere nearby briefly touches 100 today or tomorrow early afternoon. Models showing some nice dew point mixing during peak heating time today and tomorrow.

Euro throwing up some wild numbers for Wednesday. Looks super funky with a pocket of dewpoints in the 50s! 102/55 ORD For me personally if it’s gonna torch I’d rather it be a very dry heat like this. Evaporative cooling FTW!

Might be able to sneak in a 90 today, gonna be super close… With dew-points in the 60s though it doesn’t feel too bad at all in the shade. Perfect summer day! That hot and muggy stretch last week really did a wonderful job of acclimatizing my body for deep summer heat. After a week full of mid-upper 70s DPs under my belt, my tolerance for upcoming heat has certainly gone up. Today was easy peazy.

As expected. 100s are very hard to come for most of us without the perfect conditions. In most scenarios you really need drought-like conditions to hit that century mark.

It’s July in the MW, it gets hot every year. Nothing HISTORIC about this stretch tho for most peeps. Not too many people are going to look back in 20 years and remember the great 4th of July heatwave of 2026. Otoh there are quite a few heatwaves from the mid-late 90s and 2000s that I can still remember vividly.

Agreed! Wetter means better air quality too for us usually. AQI does get too bad when it’s wet.

Looks like one more night of 70+ low temps and then we get a nice stretch of 60s at night! Don’t really care if temp rises above 85 during the heart of summer. as long as it cools into the 60s at night I’m chilling!

Could get 89d today. Pretty average heat-wave overall. The balmy overnight lows and the record high min were the most noteworthy parts of the stretch.

Lucky! At least you get to cool down to 58 every night. Further south here it won’t dip below 75 at night this whole week.

12Z GEFS has seasonal temps/heat after this current blowtorch concludes. It’s selling this look July 6th all the way till the end of the run. I see a lot of low-mid 80s high temps ahead, which I don’t think anyone will complain about.

To each their own but meh. Besides the fresh seafood, I can do everything else right here locally on the shorelines of good ole Lake Michigan June-September. Wisconsin/Michigan/Indiana shores to be exact, IL beaches suck.
