Still holding around 95, the 12k NAM did well showing 96 for my area at 2PM. It doesn't kick in the seabreeze for my until between 5PM and 8PM, since at 5PM I am still at 94. But by 8PM I am in the mid 80s. Let's see how it does. -
GEMLAM did ok for your area, it was too hot to your east and NE though.

Well the 12Z Euro has 101 degrees in eastern Queens for 2PM, I've been sitting at 95 degrees for a couple hours, so not happening. It also has 103 degrees around the LGA area and Manhattan/Bronx hahahaha Needless to say the Euro was way too hot for today.

The real "cooldown" doesn't really come until a few hours from now.

I peaked and held steady around 95. For comparison the GEMLAM had me at 99 degrees.

I am not expecting comfort by any stretch of the imagination. But is already feels like shit, might as well knock 10 degrees off the temperature. It's not like I have low dewpoints right now and the sea breeze will make them go up. I already have dews in the mid 70s, that shiop has sailed lol

The Ambient stations in my area are all around 95 degrees Waiting for the seabreeze patiently

The highest I see on the rapid refresh is 90, it would have had to have spiked 2 degrees and then back down again within a 5 minute period to pull off that high.

Winds have become southerly at JFK and temps is stuck at 90.

The 12z 3k NAM coming out right now is doing well with temps at 10AM, showing low to mid 90s in the NYC area. It kind of caps temps there though until they start to drop from a seabreeze in the afternoon.

Southern Queens hotter than notherrn Queens right now, but still hot everywhere, the differences (unless your station is literally 50 feet from the water like LGA is) is 90 or 91 compared to 93 or 94 degrees.

I think there's always someone with a power outage on those maps. Look to Astoria for the first heat related power outages, if it starts to light up there you know CONED is having a problem.

It's hot for 9AM, but it's not hot enough to cause heat related power outages though.

Where? That can't be heat related, it's honestly not hot enough yet for that to be an issue.

Most people are between 83 and 86 already on the Ambient Weather stations.

How can the RGEM and GEMLAM be so different for Tuesday?

Do the people who are all gung ho for record heat and say they like it actually spend any appreciable time in it? Going from an air conditioned car to an air conditioned office to an air condirtioned home does not impress me. Granted I think @LibertyBell actually enjoys suffering in heat if he sleeps in temps over 80 voluntarily. I'm not so sure about some other people.
