  1. Major seabreeze on the 12z Euro for Monday, but Tuesday we go to 106 for a fairly large area
  2. Of course what you say is true, I was being silly lol I was being sarcastic because people blame UHI for everything. How does UHI explain record breaking 850mb temperatures for example? It doesn't, but people will continue to blame the airport or the concrete at sea level.
  3. To be fair all those tens of thousands of feet tall vertical cities everywhere have added UHI to the entire atmospheric column
  4. 12z GGEM also has the evening seabreeze for Monday.
  5. Now the GFS is hotter than the damned Euro. Monday 5PM temps in central Queens on 12z GFS: 104 degrees On 6z Euro: 85 degrees
  6. Finally a free source has the 6z Euro. It looks like there's an ocean wind on Monday keeping the bad heat inland. Tuesday the winds go NW and everyone torches full blast.
  7. That's actually 0z, ICON is a bad model so it looks totally different at 6z and i deleted it
  8. People in insane asylums tend to wear jackets
  9. Euro has a seabreeze on Monday afternoon but torches us badly on Tuesday afternoon with temps near 100 at 8PM still.
  10. 0z Euro for Monday afternoon. You don't see winds literally facing eachother NW from one direction and SE from the other often:
  11. 18z GFS now has low 100s in NYC on Sunday. Shit model
  12. I wonder how all this rain will affect the 130 degrees the Euro is showing for NYC next week
  13. The ASOS at LGA is situated to the west of any runways, and since our heatwaves come from westerly/SWERLY winds, I don't think the runway traffic would have any effect on the airports highs during hot stretches.
  14. It doesn't look as nice if it's cloudy
  15. 12z ICON now has cooler coasts and roasts the interior when previous runs roasted the coast as well.
  16. @bluewave why did you post that pic! I'm so scared now, I'm hiding under my blanket
  17. So it the system or the power line that has the problem?
  18. I'm just being silly It's 106 for a big area on Tuesday
  19. Euro still has 150 degrees for NYC on Tuesday What has changed pretty dramatically is the heatwave is now basically over on Tuesday when runs a couple days ago had highs over 100 for like 5 days in a row. Some spots still get to the 90s on Wednesday especially Central NJ where they make another run at 100 in a small spot but a significant chunk of the board stays in the 80s.
  20. In winter on radiational cooling nights I could be 10 degrees colder than LGA.
  21. Corona, but that's not saying much. I'm to the east and everyone has lawns and there are lots of trees. Despite that the Ambient stations are running close to Corona because during the day temps are similar. At night I wildly diverge from LGA.
