  1. Which combo is easier on climate control systems?
  2. The Inferno Model is out to 42. Let's see if it backed off at all from the oven like temps
  3. Same story on Tuesday, the worst dewpoints are mostly away from the coast despite the light seabreeze.
  4. It looks like the dewpoints are going to be bad. At the same time I said the GFS was giving us a bit of a SSE breeze on the coast on Monday, the dewpoints are actually worse where its's full roast inland:
  5. If you think that's funny the 12z GGEM just gave us a backdoor cold front for next Tuesday, the same day the Euro was giving us upper 100s yesterday:
  6. @forkyfork the GFS just doesn't a strong westerly flow at the surface to fight off the afternoon seabreeze for the people east of 95. I am not saying it's right, although I really hope it is! This is all deep into fantasy range anyway.
  7. A bit more seabreeze on Tuesday as well compared to 6z. Still gets to 100+ but coastal places cool off to reasonable levels
  8. The 12z GFS has a stronger SSE breeze for Monday keeping the coast from the full roast, it's a bit cooler than the 6z run.
  9. Hey not only is the 6z Euro AI free (regular 6z Euro is locked on Pivotal and Tidbits takes forever) it also goes out to 360 hours. I don't know how I never noticed lol
  10. Any break from the heat is good, I really hope the AI is right
  11. I wish. The power had gone out (yet again) and that time they fixed it they must have done something to premanetly fix the issue.
  12. Where I live now up until about 10 years ago if so much as a pigeon landed on the power lines my power would go out. Luckily they fixed that.
  13. Nah, if you did that you'd be done readng in 30 seconds for a full day's posts. What's the point of restricting posting during what is a weather forum's traditional "low season?"
  14. I was in Greece summer 2003 so I missed the blackout. However, the summers I was here growing up, I used to live in central Queens where ConEd would lower the voltage to the point where our AC compressor wouldn't even turn on. It was a 220V machine. Every time it got really hot, the AC wouldn't do it damned job. Thanks ConEd! Astronomical bills well deserved.
  15. My wife said to fill up the cars with gas just in case we have to sit in there with the car AC if the power goes out lol I can't think of another conversation I'd rather not have more than that one haha
  16. The grid conversation was kind of on topic I think, it is directly related to the record heat we are anticipating. Trust me I'd much rather talk about mist and clouds than 108 degrees lol
  17. 0z Euro has 6 days in a row of over 100 degrees in NYC. We're all gonna die
  18. I am not sure they will be excited when the power goes out. Give me mist any day over that. Plus no one is truly excited about heatwaves if they go from AC to AC and they out of their way to avoid experiencing it.
  19. Do the 18z EPS look as hot as the 12z did?
  20. The only snow you'll be getting in 2048 is the kind that comes from Columbia
  21. 94 to 100 is a big difference for climate control systems, as well as grid stability, that's my biggest concern.
  22. CC has made us more damp and with onshore flow which caps max temps, but that doesn't mean the potential isn't there for us to set all time highs when we finally get a super ridge with a downsloping flow. Yes usually we just have higher dews and minimums, but the atmosphere is loaded and ready to go when we finally get the major heat ridge with the right wind direction.
  23. Not every place experiences climate change the same way, indeed. But when the stars align (which is always going to be rare but the odds go up) we can break our all time record highs.
