Steady light snow, lots of bigger flakes mixing in. 20.8º

Patchy sun and 26.6º here in the Gap, waiting to see what we get out of this! No snow on the eastern side of Watauga yet. Never seen this before, but it could very well be the first time everyone in my family sees snow at the same time. I'm in Boone, Dad is in Lancaster, daughter is in Columbia, and my brother is in Charleston! Definitely the only time we have all been under a winter storm warning at the same time! Gonna be wild! Oh, anybody got any ice melt?

I've never seen NW flow snow do much of anything here in Deep Gap, we're just not close enough to the border. Today has been the exception. It's been snowing all day, mostly very light flurries, but it's coming down pretty good right now. Slight accumulations on top of the ice outside. Down to 12.6º.

Sunny with flurries here in Deep Gap, 21.6º. Hope everyone stayed safe, and I'm very glad that was not as bad as last February.

19º in Deep Gap with light snow. Half inch of snow accumulation on our cars and deck.

28.8º here, hopefully we can squeeze another inch out of tonight's system. I'm hopeful for at least more than the dusting we got Thursday.

I remember back in December 2018, the year we moved to Boone, my weather apps were all honing in on a period of snow from ~Dec. 8 to the 10th, and we ended up getting almost 2 feet out of that storm here in Deep Gap. I watched that period of snow stay shown on the apps for about a month before it happened. I'm still not sure how we zeroed in on that at least a month ahead of time and it still panned out, but I will always remember that. That being said, there has been constant freezing precip showing up for the 23-25th time period for about a month now. Just sayin.

Flurries in Deep Gap, nothing to really speak of. No accumulation. 30.7º Not expecting much out of this one. Sunday was a great surprise with almost an inch, but I don't think we will overperform this time, radar looks weak coming in from the west.

Can confirm. I’m not downtown, just east of there, and we’ve had several heavy bursts of snow. Didn’t expect this much to be honest.

Oh man. That’s 28” to 32” at my house. Being this far out, it will most definitely change in the next few days. I’d realistically expect more like 6-10” or so, and wouldn’t be surprised if it were less than that. I can’t believe I’m actually saying that! Having lived in the midlands of SC for 20 years makes you really jaded about snow chances.
