Out in Canaan Valley this week Perseid hunting. Haven't seen any Perseid's this year but some absolutely fantastic storms came through last night beginning around 1AM. Very electrical w/ pouring rain, little to no wind. Perfect for enjoying on the porch! Looking forward to more later today.
As as casual follower, I am trying to understand what I'm to infer from this?
An environment with low wind shear more favorable to development or tracking of a storm near to us?
Yeah the lighting last night was absolutely amazing. That was the most charged storm that I can recall in past couple of years. Lots of close strikes downtown here.
Yeah that was an aggressive downpour. Sitting outside my third floor apt, and you could hear the roar of the downpour hitting the metal rooftops as it approached. I expected hail, but just rain.
Man I was taking a walk on the west side of frederick city by Hood College and thought the sky was a little too reddish to the north. Not seeing anything now from my third floor apt though.
