    ...same thing out east..day was sun filled, the water was warm, clean & green, nice breeze out of the S..all in all a top 10 beach day..whats noticeable now is the lowering sun angle..even at high noon the reflection of the sun on the water is quite noticeable.

    ..got nailed pretty good out here..// .50" of rain overnite with thunder & lighting(woke me @ 2am). another crap weekend for the beach..times running out as labor day is only 2 weeks away..

    ...yeah,it was the same deal out here on Pikes beach in west hampton dunes on sunday..beautiful sunny skies with a brisk ESE wind..when you looked north it looked very stormy with billowing clouds and they didn't seem to move much..all in all it turned out to be a great day at the beach.

    ...pouring out here..I'm under a flash flood warning and i can see why..radar indicated not much movement of the precipitation. ..after todays' NON beach day we are left with only 2 sundays remaining in august..as we always say.."where did summer go?".

    ..KFOK reported 1.16" of rain in 1 hour..that jives with me..i got a little over 2" since 4am.

    ...amazing how those storms fell apart as they headed east/southeast..i barely got a drop..

    ..it will be interesting to see if most of the rain will miss ELI..trajectory looks NW to SE..may clip eastport but miss the forks..

    ...and it did..got down to the beach(yesterday/sunday) around 10:30 am..wind was light out of the NW and it was V. hot..winds went calm just before the sea breeze kicked in and cooled us off...all in all a classic day at the shore.

    ...got about 1/2 of that.. .60 here in eastport...sun came out too late to salvage any beach time..looking forward to a heck-of-a-beach day tmrw.

    ...hoping to salvage a beach day today on my day off..looks pretty bad now but clearing skies seem to be heading north bound from the ocean..(need that goes-16 satellite SACRUS).

    ...yeah..yesterday(mon) turned out sunny all day and not a bad beach day except for wind and ocean conditions.

    ...hope no one took this week for a 'staycation'/ beach vacation..ocean beaches ALL week will be very unpleasant and rough surf to boot..montauk,fire island even down to OBX will feature days and days of shopping for those cheesy sweatshirts..ugh!

    ...been so dry out here..bluewave noted FOK @ 0.10..and that jives with me..the whole lawn has turned brown. looking forward to the beach the next couple of days although we might have to deal with some clouds.

    ..yeah..Gabreski Airport(KFOK)..got down to 47*..i woke up to 49*. should be a hell-u-va beach day today..only fly in the ointment will be some building surf from what will become TD Chris..but wave heights won't peak 'till tues/wed.

    ...can't belief KFOK got to 96* on sunday..beach was hot with alot of high clouds and really no sea breeze to speak of..but it was certainly a great beach day.

    ..agree WABC7 has the 2 best OMC's..Jeff Smith/Lee Goldberg..and 1 of the worst in A. F. speaking of Lee..he spoke of an "abrupt pattern change to much warmer weather after April 12-13".

    ..with a big grain of salt i decided to look @ accuweathers long range forecasts..they don't see any colder temps at all.. all daytime highs in the 40's..right thru christmas..what does this mean?? absolutely nothing!!..
