  1. Well don't forget the definition of living comfortably is far different now than in 1970. Houses are bigger, cars are fancier and have actual safety features plus something other than an airvent and an AM radio, there are now multiple tvs in the house and they are not only in color but the biggest in the house is no longer 19" and they get more than 3 channels, computers, computers, computers, video game machines, home exercise equipment, there is no longer just one phone in the house that you rent, people belong to gyms other than a YMCA, you don't just go out to eat on special occasions, etc.
  2. Streams were all up this morning. It must have been a good rain overnight.
  3. There should be a govt campaign to have a Lyme vaccine out by 2022
  4. Raining here in the Land of Rut. It has been so dry that it is odd hearing the rain on the office roof.

  7. Give it two years and then for months leading up to the primary you won't be able to go out to dinner without meeting a presidential candidate. I think you didn't buy until after the primary this last go around. It gets crazy for a while. A number of the candidates will even have offices in Berlin and Littleton is a frequent stopping off point too ,especially that diner on the main drag, Polly's Pancakes as well.
  8. Last time I warmed my feet by the fire like that I didn't realize that the bottom of my feet were blistering until I stood up. Partial Neuropathy for the win!
  9. It was spitting snow as I left the house just before 7am- big big winter incoming!
  10. How do we know that suicides are a lagging indicator? Is this based on all our prior experiences with pandemic lockdowns?
  11. Seriously when will this gender reveal nonsense stop? https://www.wcax.com/2021/04/23/explosion-at-gender-reveal-party-rocks-several-towns/ https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9503111/Gender-reveal-party-explosion-rocks-US-towns.html
  12. Have you measured the height of the edge of that circular bed so that you know if the edging is covered it is X inches deep?
  13. Woke up to 22f and 2.3 inches of snow. Hopefully the fruit tree crops (apple, pear, plum) will be fine as they were very close to having the flowers opening. Big question now is if I will get the .4 inches needed to get me to 80 inches on the season.
  14. 2.3 inches total here after some fluff overnight.
  15. Slushing here in Rutland now. It looks like the hood of my car has a coating on it.
  16. A sure sign of Spring, My FEDCO order arrived on Sunday afternoon. 5 different grapes and a peach tree. I got the Peach tree in where it will stay and put the vines into a bed until I can get the long-term site ready.
  17. Fixx also had been overweight and a smoker before taking up running in his mid-30s. Sadly he also had a family history as his father died of a heart attack at 43. https://www.si.com/track-and-field/2020/05/21/jim-fixx-legacy-running-coronavirus
  18. For some reason, this is no longer the case in Brazil. Recently those under 40 became the majority of those in ICU care nationally. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-brazil/majority-of-brazil-covid-19-icu-patients-aged-40-years-or-younger-report-idUSKBN2C02UB https://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-56696907 Is it the variant? Is it that it is very prevalent and the old are not making it to the ICU anymore?
  19. Well everyone 16 or older can sign up for a shot. You then wait for the appointment, get a shot wait 3 more weeks, get a second shot, and then wait 2 more weeks for full effectiveness to be reached. Around here when I signed up, there was a 2 to 3 week delay before the 1st shot. So would be 2 months from now that 16+ signing up today will have completed the process. Boy I am so glad this thread is COVID and politics free.
  20. He runs in almost all his movies
