NAM is definitely warmer. Mid 30s here Thursday night and still above freezing around midnight. Could be on to something. Something to look for on other models

18z gfs took step back. Have to go pretty far north to get good snows. If it’s right I will give it props because right now it’s on it own

Sounds like VA winter. Warm couple days before a winter storm. Get all 4 seasons in a week

Euro pretty similar to the UK. 8-10 in the metro. Even Petersburg with a nice hit. It continues the trend of slow ticks south each run. No access to a Kuchera map

Yes it was weak but it was more south than past runs. It still has a big ice storm for southern VA

Wakefield just issued their first forecast and as always they are being extremely conservative with both the snow and ice

12z NAM is mainly snow. Brief ice to start then all snow. 6-8 for the metro

Yes this is a CAD event. Models tend to not handle them well. Not sure if the euro is better with it

The answer probably lies somewhere in the middle.

Once again it’s the battle between the American and the Euro. American favors us for ice storm and big snows for the DMV while EURO is south and gives us more snow and some ice, more south. Which is it???

Euro continues to take small ticks south each run. Would gladly take that as it’s more snow and less ice. Yeah you would think this was a non event for the main thread folks because it’s quiet in there. I know they’re rooting hard for that north trend
