No we get it, you use your lawn as a sense of self-worth and status symbol. It’s very important that this non-native vegetation be in pristine shape all the time otherwise you are failing at life somehow. Lush green lawn desires started with George Washington. It’s the American dream from when his yard and house was painted and shown prominently as the pillar of wealth.
Absolutely nailed it.

We have an area that borders the woods just outside the fence in this photo that's our milkweed area. Similar to what @mreavesposted.
This year we planted Mexican Sunflowers in the box adjacent to that area and we've been flush with polinators including monarchs, bees, hummingbirds and something I didn't know existed: hummingbird moths (second photo).
I highly recommend these sunflowers for any pollinator garden.

The world population is too high. We need more abortions and severe weather.

The 111 killed due to rip currents in 2021 is eye opening
I wonder if the increase is pandemic-related. More inexperienced people taking to outdoor activities - thinking specifically things like kayaking and paddleboarding.

Makes me feel so helpless sometimes. We had at least 40 minutes lead time to Sebago, we were messaging it on NWSChat. There's not much more we could've done, but yet still feels like we could've done more.
For sure. I am not undermining the awfulness of the tragedy... People have to use common sense. Being in a car, sitting still, under 40ft white pines during a storm, no matter how severe, is not a good idea. Maybe they couldn't go anywhere else.

any chance this line in NH makes it to the coast or is the usual "foothills and seabreeze ensure 0 precip makes it to MBY" thing?

If you light off fireworks in a residential neighborhood (while there are public displays within 2 miles in any and all directions) you are a tw*t of the highest order.
Or a veteran. F*ck.
Especially if you do it a week after the holiday. Absolute wankers.

If this pattern keeps up, I might be able to avoid installing a single AC unit this summer.

There’s lots of posts and thread on it.
It basically comes down to budget, what you want to measure, and how serious you want to get into it.
Generally speaking, a Davis with fan aspiration will give you your most accurate readings in the home market, but you’re going to pay for it (to some extent) too. The all-in-1’s are nice, but not all sensors were meant to be placed in the same location…ie wind at 10m, temp at 2m, rain at 1-2m, etc.
I don’t even know what everything is going for right now given the state of the economy.
Thanks. The one Eaves posted was around $175 which is about what I'm looking to spend. My primary use case is temps, as well as rain when I'm out of town. Wind is a bonus for the few events we get a year. NWS hooked me up with the snow gear for PWM obs, covered there.

I have it tied to Wunderground too. I mounted it with shelving brackets on the corner of my deck using a piece of white shelving instead of a pole. I use the shelving as a snowboard. You can see it in the picture below.
Thanks for the rec!

Is there somewhere on this forum that has info about the various home weather stations that I can read up on? I have a stratus, mostly interested in temp and wind data. If not, what would you recommend?
Asked differently...

was it easy to install?

what else is new. Except for last summer in which SNE got drenched, we still were BN, but better than previous 2 summers. I just accept that it will be dry May through Sept.
Yeah, feast or famine last summer. May, June, Aug were all BN. July was AN with 11" of rain. Sep was average. It comes out to be AN for the whole summer, but definitely didn't feel that outside July.

I would say the issue lies with your gadden/gardener, not the lack of precip.
