No snow on the grass in Burke except for random places that get precisely zero sun.
You're in the outside the beltway snow hole. Even worse there apparently!

Nice little band of mood flakes hitting Silver Spring now.

Snow in silver spring, grass and cars coated. Pavement wet. Overperformer

Gonna go ahead and go out on a limb and say that wave 1 (thurs) gives MBY 2" of slush at the most and zilcho on the roads.

The NAM is annoyingly warm at the surface too, never gets DC below 32 for wave 1.
That worked out well for us inside the beltway on sunday

50 already downtown. We blow by forecasted highs more than DC drivers blow stop signs.
Roasty toasty 47 with the sun out here in Silver Spring. Hoping for some half decent overnight rates so we get some accums by thursday AM. Also hoping cloud cover tomorrow verifies. The ground is still relatively cold after our chilly/wet stretch, snow still hanging on in some grassy spots but prolly all gone after this afternoon.

Here's the 24 hour precip panel for wave 2. Less sluggy and much less dece than wave 1

. She obviously does. Maybe you know her personally and maybe she's a princess Diana in regular life and I hope so but on here and being on weather forums and car forums for 20 years she's the worst of the worst I've ever encountered on a forum that suppose to be fun and enjoyment. She offers nothing valuable imo.
That is all
Yeah, 100% agree. I acknowledge I don't have the cred required to have input amongst the over 5k posters here, but wxtrix is straight up wxnasty and every time I read one of her posts I cringe. Archetypal troll

Caught in the exhaust from that deathband west of town. Down to light/mod snow.
Feels like dc/tkpk/dtss are always getting light-mod while rockville-sterling gets the heaviest of poundage

Just flipped to snow from heavy rain near downtown silver spring.

850s look great, but surface temps aren't cold during heaviest precip:

Sorry if this is a repost but I rarely see HM writing so literal on twitter. Usually his posts are uh... complex.

I dunno. I've just noticed your posts aren't very nice a lot of the time and I don't see a good reason for it. People are just out here enjoying snow, no reason to come after them.
Thanks for saying this! It's particularly unnecessary to insult people's intelligence and call them children, when I'm sure a lot of kids are on this board and trying to learn.

Deck pic from my brother's house in Ithaca NY where i have been hunkered down since Friday. 6" was already OTG; then we got a few of lake effect fri-sat; then about 3" yesterday, now in the outer bands of the coastal low getting more stacked on top. Good times. Hoping the metro area looks like this by the end of the next two weeks
