I am kind of surprised that you seem dumbfounded on why the heat signals you see are failing . Me - I have no idea . Is this a case of they keep failing at a time interval that is extended enough that fails are not uncommon and in addition to that they perhaps don’t seem to be “beefy” enough Signals ?

Seems to me Shore Ct, SE Ri and SE mass and cape often miss more summer precip / convection

Like SE mass waiting for accumulating snowfall when day 10 looks “great”

Waited a extra 32 or so hours this week to mow (compared to the Friday am usual ) and it made a considerable difference in length . I’m guessing most of that was weather related

I’m just saying when making a case of mundane departures , I wouldn’t use a reporting station that Will has stated ad nauseam is garbage I think the Perceived departures sometimes are skewed if it is cooler or hotter when people are awake and any minimum departures (+\-) are often not perceived as well simply because most are not outside experiencing them. That being said it - it seemed like a -2 or so I would also add that many see June as a summer month ..but first third of the month the averages are not really that “summery” (so some may think the (-) departures were bigger early on

There was a narrow corridor from N Berks to South central New England elevations that got 18-25” in December Nor’ Easter and March fire hose also gave same areas 30-45” . N Berks S VT / Monads . I believe those areas finished solidly above average .

Can anyone provide a link to winter 2022-23 accumulation totals that are somewhat reliable

6z gfs had big heat some areas in SNE about 10-12 days for whatever that’s worth .

One love Brewery is nice spot in Lincoln’s main strip . I always like driving up the Kancamangus Highway For views and Stopping at 1 or 2 of The waterfalls (Sabbaday falls ) then sometimes for a Day trip into N Conway (45 mins) . For me Lincoln was always a much better winter spot as their is limited dining and sights in town . I’d make sure I stay in a spot w decent amenities. There is a cool lost river gorge and cave in next town over (Woodstock) which is a pretty cool easy hike into caves , slightly claustrophobic in few spots but guided .

Another inch in Bedford Mass today , what’s new

The amount of cars stranded in the middle of transit road (most reliable road in Buffalo LES) was simply jaw dropping . They were piling up all nite as people were rescued by snowmobile and some police SUV’s. The stories in the lobby the next morning were so wild and crazy . 3 hrs to go 2 miles for some of the folks , just bouncing off stuck cars in an effort to make your way on a road where you are blind . After all the rooms got books the hotel lobby just filled with rescues over the next 12-18 hours , every now and again the staff (maybe 2-3 people) would put out a large plate of food that would be devoured in minutes .

If you go to my channel there is more description for this one (And vids) one is from car lot after I parked , and this is after I crossed street. I’ll add more later as I have to wake up super early This was 20 mins after I had to pullover around 425pm . I tailgated a emergency vehicle and could make out its flashing lights up Transit road , when that turned off road ..I was blind . Had already been using GPS to basically steer and have idea where road bent and found a car dealership to turn into . Crossed street and took shelter in gas station till I regrouped and booked a nice hotel literally 300 feet away (Salvatore’s) I had not appreciated how such high winds and powder snow could create a ground blizzard of such a dangerous extent even with only 4-6” of snow by my time of arrival . Closing of Ny state highway for 70 miles didn’t help my commute time and I will never drive in those conditions again .
