Yeah I seem to remember last year's advertised long range cold didn't verify very often, if I'm not mistaken. Be nice to see long range trends be somewhat better this year. Save a lot of angst.
First widespread snow event of the year (for NOVA anyway) shows up on 6z GFS for around 11/7. Jersey gets slammed and points north and northeast. Let the tracking begin! Only 12 days away.
Typhoon Tip and others in the New England thread don't pay much attention to the Climate models. They just expect " the rust colors to be spread throughout most of the country". Keep the faith Bristow and pick up a new "toy"!!
Could drop a few degrees but we need that wind direction to shift at all levels which means a big change in things or hope models are a little off in their forecasts.
Too bad that HP in the nw couldn't get further to the east especially with the trend to have the storm bomb off the coast pretty close to us. NWS has some snow in the overnight tonight when winds shift to the nw.
Eyeballing, it looks like about two inches so far in Gainesville. Snow is moderate at best now. Barely a whisper of any wind. It's snowy, cold, and tranquil now.
