Interesting day today...
Several storms exhibited rotation an couplets across the area, even behind OFB's.
Given things were close, I decided to head 15mins southwest of here and intercepted one of the storms near Wayne, IL late this afternoon. There was a lead storm, with a line behind it. The lead storm had a lowering and rotation for a time at the surface, but had a strong mid level meso/rotation. After a brief time of watching this unfold south of Wayne, a microburst signature formed a short distance from my location, northwest of Wayne. I raced north and intercepted it while I was in town. Winds were 60-70mph at my location, with tree debris flying around and penny size hail. Afterwards I went out on a short survey of damage and found there was a moderate sized swath of minor tree damage, with a smaller embedded area of significant tree damage...where numerous trees were uprooted or snapped at the trunk, large limbs were down, and two power poles were down. Winds were likely in excess of 70mph in this smaller axis. Below is a pic of the storm while I was sitting south of Wayne before the microburst, looking towards the meso to my southwest. This is the second year in a row I've managed to encounter a nearly direct hit from a microburst, the other being 7/21/17 not too far from here, though that one was even more significant.

LOT is sending out a survey team to investigate your southeastern circle. Not sure about elsewhere.
Gino confirmed damage with that one.

I was out between Valpo and Wheatfield tonight and saw frequent lightning to the north. Was a little surprised to see how far away the storms were when I checked radar.
Yea, I heard that from others that it was visible from a far distance.
Lightning was prolific all night here. Not a ton of CG's though.

Nice line segment pushed through early Tuesday night. It featured a 50-55mph winds here, a decent shelf cloud and decent lightning with it. It was severe warned, and there were a few branches down in the next town over, where a core of high velo's passed through.

A few storms that develop across the area this evening had supercell characteristics and some rotation, one of which passed through here.
Since then a nice train has set up, though slowly shifting north. Looks like some heavy rain/flood issues for the northern tier tonight.

Looks like ORD might get Powerballed today (barring a late bump)
Ended up 89 at both ORD and MDW. The thick wildfire smoke overhead might have prevented 90.

89 ORD and 91 MDW yesterday.
Seems like that 2-3" of rain that occurred at and around ORD on Wednesday knocked a few degrees off of highs there, compared other immediate metro sites.

Yeah we'll see. Current motion would bring it toward ORD, so the question is how robust it (and outflow) is by then.
Outflow and light rains just west of ORD have dropped temps back into the mid 70's, so it likely won't make it.

That was a terrible watch issuance. One of the worst I've seen in years.

Assuming the low of 78 at ORD holds up the rest of the day (it should), it would tie the record high min from 1881.
Unexpected MCS pushing into NW. IL might be a big issue for this...

Topped out at 94 at ORD and 95 and MDW today.

It should hold, as it looks like storms should stay away from SE. WI until very late tonight.

91 at ORD thus far.
There has been a lot of cloud debris all day, and an OFB that moved through earlier. Looks like more clearing mid-late afternoon, so there will be a chance for a late rally.

Topped out at 97 at ORD and 96 and MDW today.
Thicker cirrus that moved in this afternoon might have knocked 1F off potential highs.

PWK up to 98/99 now...somehow.
