Latest HRRR tries really hard to keep those east of Asheville all snow throughout. 

Southern Mitchell County. Light snow, 30 degrees.

I think there’s going to be a really small line of sleet and a lot of it then just east of that line a lot of freezing rain. Going to be such a tight gradient that Morganton may be snow/sleet and Icard may be freezing rain.

I’m 2 miles from the Chalet in little Switzerland, hopefully these totals pan out. 

Per 3k NAM, 2 feet at little Switzerland and a dusting from weaverville to mars hill, wow! 

850s are definitely cooler this run of the NAM. Think you’re seeing it play catch-up a bit. 

Probably seeing the NAM bias of being skimpy with QPF. Hard to think it use to be so overrode with it.

Don’t really see it other than the French broad river valley per usual.  
 

Through 30, GFS looks stronger and a bit north with our ULL

Man the ICON just plasters WNC as the low is bombing down East.

Should be a really good spot. Elevation and lift from the southern escarpment with the trajectory of the precip should be money. One of two jackpot areas I’m thinking. 

This will be the best GEFS run for the mtns yet.
