    2 miles inland and 28 feet above sea level is not a bad place to be as long as they have food & water supplies and no underlying health issues where the loss of power could harm them then it makes sense to stay.

    On my way to Puerto Plata. Probably going to get flooded and maybe a hurricane force gust or two. Biggest issue for PR is going to be the complete devastation of the power grid.

    The video I posted also appears to show that "lull" in the action. At 3:45 you can see the winds are not as intense as earlier in the video but by 4:00 the winds have shown a significant increase from a different direction.

    Saw your post that you live in Whitehall. I grew up there and travel back quite frequently and am always looking for snow reports from there. What part of town are you in? I grew up in the Fullerton area and my mother still lives there.
