I know some folks to the far NW are disappointed, but this was a fun storm. One of the biggest factors for me with storm enjoyment is start time--nothing better than getting up at 5 AM and brewing some coffee just as the sidewalks are dusting up, and knowing you have nowhere to be.
We ended up with about 5.3" here before the sleet took over, and it's coming down hard.

Looks like it has changed over outside.

Thanks for the update - Gap is only what...5 or so miles from Parkesburg?
Yup. Game of inches (and miles!).

Your area over to parts of the DV really got the goods earlier this morning. You have to be around 5" or more now.
Just went out to measure, a hair over 5". Parkesburg is closer to 7.5", we *just* missed the beef of that heavier band to our SE earlier.

Sounds like they are pushing 10" in Wayne and over a foot near Conshohocken. Impressive.

Interesting, I was on a work call and looked outside and noticed it had that classic mixing look (scattered flakes falling quickly). I looked back five minutes later and it's back to SN/SN+, no mixing.

Down here in Avondale ( just south of Rt 1) we must have missed that killer band of snow. Warm nose having its effect as we have a moderate snow sleet mix presently. Maybe 2 inches? I see Mt Holly talking about places w 6-7 inches reported!
We have not yet hit the jackpot on any of this season’s winter events as the ever present warm nose seems to find this zip code every time. Still very pretty and kudos to those getting the deep fluff!
.I am up at the other end of 41 in Gap. We have about 4.5" here so far. Flakes got a little mangled a couple hours ago but haven't had any sleet (yet).

4.2" in Gap. SN to SN+. Radar looks great to our west.

The mangled flakes are gone in Gap. Back to SN with fine flakes.

Reading the MA thread there is taint much closer than expected. Frederick is freezing rain. Sees there may be taint up into S/E Lancaster county now.
There are big mangled flakes falling outside here in Gap. I'm 300 yards south of Route 30. Changeover imminent I'm afraid.

Any idea in why its ending so fast now? when before it was said to snow all day into the night with light snow and linger till fri am?
Maybe not so keen now on the coastal doing much?

Just looked at the CC radar, there's a blob moving in from the WSW that appears to have sleet in it. Hope I can stay on the north side of the sleet.
Yup. That escalated quickly.

1.5" in Gap so far.

About a half inch or so in Gap so far. SN.

Do we need to worry about the sun angle?
As the morning drags on, will definitely be tougher. The good news looks like this will be coming in earlier than initially thought.

Hug the HRDPS. Nice thump before mix.

@Mshaffer526 I think CTP had a map this morning with 9" "Expected" for LNS.
They did, but the one they just updated a little bit ago didn't really cut totals that much. 8" for pretty much the entire southern tier east of I-81.

That is yesterday's map. This is today's:

It’s the steady drying trend on the northern extent that’s worrisome. Hopefully comes back a bit at HH
Yup, admittedly I would be more worried if I was north and west of 222.

The HRRR is dreadfully bad at sniffing out warm noses.
