Well the ICON/GEM give MBY 2-4", GFS maybe a coating, Mostly Rain... now will see what EURO has.
-
Why is the GEM colder than the GFS for the Sun/Mon system? Is it because the GFS is more amped?

I don't remember the Canadian doing well at all this winter.
I agree I don't see much going on the next 2 weeks, not cold enough IMO. Keeping my eye on mid month and on.
Canadian was one of the first ones to get that stripe of snow in the December storm...

And no storms or very cold air on 6z GFS long range!? Here we are a day away from Fab Feb start, and it ain't looking too Fab, anytime soon
Which, will probably change at 12z lol

Yeah with the marginal cold and the low position, the higher elevations can make this work. Kind of like spring storms...
Although the Canadian is colder, it had done well this Winter, but kinda hard to Trust it when GFS AND EURO dont

I might be wrong, but the Sun/Mon threat looks more suited for the Mountains...
-
12z GFS looks great.... hopefully it will get some support!

DT talking about the Snowhole again in Chester.... said it snowed for 12 straight hours and only got 2".

Looks like those possible torches for mid month are fading face... this is a long lasting cold!

Looks like to me the HRRR is filling in the dry slot more in future runs
-
WSW now in efect for Southside VA.
-
Kinda weird that DT is only saying about an inch or so for Richmond, but the weather channel says 8-12" lol
-
34 and flakes starting to get bigger!

I believe so yes. Blacksburg snow map still has us at 1 inch or less lol
Maybe they are waiting for the 12z data before jumping...

I doubt it, I am encouraged by the NE wind blowing here now and the dewpoint is down to 25
They should upgrade it to warning criteria, isnt Danvilles criteria for that 4"?
-
Do you guys think after 12z, if the models keep showing this, that they will upgrade the advisories to warnings in southside va?
-
SREF now shows a Mean over 6" here in Danville.

Kinda curious... why do you guys think mby in Danville, VA are under a WWA instead of a WSW?

At hour 10 on the HRRR, it's 34 degrees around Danville, Hour 11 it's 38... not sure how that can happen
