New national high temp record for Canada today. Might be broken again tomorrow and then again on Tuesday.

All time record highs being set…. That ridge out west is insane!

Talk about scary. Couldn’t imagine being in a big city like Chicago and having the tornado sirens go off and looking up and seeing that wall of clouds rolling in.

I’m a bit concerned. I didn’t even know Tuesday was primary day. Usually you see signs everywhere, mailers, news coverage… I don’t remember seeing anything till it was over. Was like a non existent event in my part of the city. Why does she keep saying “we won” and “we’re commin for you”? Who is we, because we is not me. Her one windfall is an estimate $300 million in cares act funding for the city which will be her one way of actually accomplishing her agenda. She wants to have a means of “controlling” rent prices in the city and capping what renters can charge in certain neighborhoods. She wants to end poverty with community gardens. Her belief is that once the poverty is gone the crime will be gone. She is going to classify the us as a Sanctuary City and she wants to create a new “public banking system”. Her police reform plan would create a citizen oversight board that could open their own investigations. She wants Community policing, “we’re going to deploy resources into the community and let the neighborhoods decide how to use them”, with more mental health workers. It will be interesting to see how the common council is willing to work with her. She has already said she is making allies for the upcoming local elections. Was looking to move back to the burbs in the near future but might be wanting to find a way to make that happen by the end of the year now.

Cool air (850 hPa temperatures around +4C) this early morning with sufficient low level moisture will generate a few streamers of lake clouds to the southeast...and then east of the Lakes. Moderate cumulus is forming over the Boston Hills this early morning off Lake Erie. Lake clouds that form today will advance northward as the low level flow backs this morning.

One extreme or the other… that’s how we roll! Love running the GFS all the way out and it shows the desert over BUF clear as day. Like come on… EDIT to add… I’m sure our drought buster will finally show up on 4th of July weekend. That’s just how this goes down around here.

Way downstate, but first tornado warning in NY today I believe…

Some crazy videos of a tornado that hit the northern suburbs of Montreal this afternoon. Very violent look to it. At least one fatality so far.

Little rain. Little wind. Bit of dud here for me.

Think it looked more impressive on radar. Ended up being 3 different batches moving through overnight. Good soaking rains but nothing severe. Only saw one report of a tree down on wire in Amherst area. Threat event looks to be between noon and 4 for WNY today… If it even fires up

Yeah depending on your model of choice the 2am-7am time frame look like there could be a good area of storms rolling across the state.

Be glad you didn’t. After a 2 hour delay they tried to start to the show after the fog layer finally burnt off but the cloud deck was still only around 1000’ over the harbor so the blue angels and the other stunt planes were a no go.

Been fun watching them buzz around town this week.

Gotta be some gorilla hail in that thing. Never see such big pink blobs like that on the NWS radar.

Lake shadow hard at work today…

Yuck! .NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/... This is one of those forecasts that makes you question the date the calendar seems to be pointing to. No, you shouldn`t be getting ready for Dyngus Day, rather this is the start of the Memorial Day holiday weekend. Needless to say, there is nothing that will seem at all like the start of the summer for our region with temperatures so far below normal for the next day or two that we will actually have wind chill factors.

Figures... mask mandate ends and 3 days later I come down with the start of a cold / sinus infection. Haven’t had as much as a sniffle in the past 18 months.

BUF hitting the 90 mark this evening as well.

Gonna have to pace ourselves on turkey day this year. Usually passed out in a food coma by 8pm...

Yup... if that was it for the day that was pretty lame. Radar actually looked decent right over me but nothing more than a few minutes of moderate rain and a couple rumbles of thunder...

BUF radar back up... and just in time!!

Per nighttime satellite imagery and available radars (BUF radar remains out of service until later today), looks like it will be quiet across most of the region to start the day.

I was trying to get in the game back in January right when all the market “activity” was taking off only to find out NYS has all these BS regulation on crypto purchasing and after spending hours trying to figure a work around I just gave up. Was hot on trying to get DOGE back when it was 8/10ths of penny a coin. The exchanges all seem so confusing and I just go by the old moto... if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Sure some people are gonna make a fortune but more are gonna lose out.

That last cell was nuts. Only a coat of slush on elevated surfaces but was ripping for about 15 mins...
