    SGF now mentioning the possibility of Ice Storm Warnings in the AFD

    Still showing only moderate confidence too. For being just hours from the event, it seems like they are just guessing.

    At this point the NAM is obviously high, but I think SGF is a little low.

    There is little to no chance, that the NAM or canadian are correct. The question is will we find ourselves somewhere between those two and the GFS/euro. I think the right call is to side with the latter, but I wouldn't totally discount a slightly more significant event yet.

    Which the nam is off the charts compated to other models. It would have to be insanely wrong to get down to the amounts that SGF is forecasting though.

    AFD leads me to believe they are going to go with an Advisory

    Winter weather advisory's and Winter Storm watches going up now. I'll be interested to see what SGF issues.

    The NAM continues to trend colder at the surface, in the springfield area, it has a decent amount of precip falling in the 28/29 degree range, which would lead to a greater amount of accretion

    Yep. That would be a crushing hit for the springfield metro, if it all accumulates.

    SGF suddenly becoming pretty bullish on an ice/snow event, per twitter. Should be an interesting afternoon AFD,

    Accretion is going to be an issue (In this case probably a good one.) Based on what I saw, it looked like heavy rain and 30-32, which I am assuming this model accumulates all of, which in the real world is not going to happen. Most of that will likely drip off of the trees and powerlines, before it freezes.

    You almost have to put that post out in SWMO, it certainly looks possible that something could happen. Of course, the general public will almost certainly miss the word 'potential' in that tweet and freak out if nothing happens.

    Euro painting an ugly picture across SWMO Thursday night. I know models normally under do arctic air, and if that’s the case, it’s even uglier. Interesting 48-72 hours upcoming.

    Noticed that. I am down in OKC this week on a business trip, headed back home on Friday, so this I have a feeling we will get hammered just to make my life miserable!

    Snowing golf balls in republic. Some of the biggest flakes I have ever seen. still probably half sleet though. It would be snowing at a crazy rate if it was all snow.

    I’m more optimistic now than I was last night. Not gonna be major but should see some flakes flying tomorrow.
