  1. A little over 5 miles SE of ORD, light snow right now in Harwood Heights (38 degrees). Seems to have started as snow as ground is dry.
  2. If that were to actually play out verbatim, then ORD will have gotten 67% of its’ average annual snowfall in just 9 days.
  3. If this verifies, would qualify for another WSW for part of the LOT area. It would be the 3rd in 8-9 days. Wonder if that’s ever happened before.
  4. I’m heading back to Boone County on Thursday evening. If that low tracks over Chicago as shown on the 12z GFS, gonna be a pretty snowy return.
  5. Either the warm tongue and/or Lake Michigan has screwed you around a bit for recent snow events from becoming great. So I’m happy that it’s worked out for you guys.
  6. Radar still looks pretty nice. I love it when it snows (at any intensity) all day long.
  7. My 9.9” call is going to either be close to on the $$$ or bust low by an inch or so.
  8. Me, after shoveling but seeing there’s more on the way:
  9. Thanks for the updates. Maybe HRRR wasn’t completely off it’s rocker this time for the lake effect potential. At least for SE WI; as NE IL yet to be fully realized.
  10. Likely overdone, but newest HRRR calling for 8 more inches of snow to fall at ORD between now & 4pm tomorrow.
  11. Currently in Harwood Heights. Went outside a little after 3 to grab something for work & nice to see it already snowing. Going to ride my 2 days ago call of 9.9” at ORD, but I think I’ll be a touch low.
  12. Alek’s got some winter pot holes he’s looking forward to filling with all this cement coming.
  13. This ain’t no WxBell Kuchera map, neither.
  14. GFS-Elect seems to also have the earlier precip onset that the HRRR had for N IL. Where forecasts have projected a close-to-6pm start time, this has almost 3 inches on the ground come 6pm.
  15. Ah. Well then we’ve just got good Mets that work in our area.
  16. I’m going to assume @RCNYILWX was part of the Q&A that the NWS Chicago Twitter page had tonight. Looking through, some good, fair, and well rounded answers for 240 characters. For anyone who wishes to read through:
  17. Thank you; and come on...what’s wrong with letting people think they’ll get almost 2 feet of snow?
  18. Yeah, my P&C just changed as well. Went from 6-10 Sat night to 4-8. Maybe they’ve got info we don’t?
