  1. At least we are consistent, right at, a hair under 2 inches here just measuring on a car top. But it is beautiful.
  2. Looked outside about start of halftime of the game, and it is pouring snow and sleet. Head out with the dog again. We are playing ball in the snow. Labs don't care. I realize it's raining - freezing of course. Then as we come in, it's some type of sleet or pellets. Just wild. Measured about 1.5 inch of mix. This reminds me of one of the old 1980's winter storms. We used to get a lot of little nickel and dime deals like this that would give you a little bit of everything precip wise.
  3. Back to decent snow falling and nothing on radar. Maybe some hope.
  4. We have the light diamond dust flakes now too.
  5. Well this is heavy sleet. If we are going to have sleet, this is nice sleet.
  6. Snow was pounding down during my walk, but just switched to mostly sleet. Probably a bust in terms of big snow amounts. But not a bust in terms of impact and just having a winter storm with very cold temperatures.
  7. Rates have definitely picked up. About to walk the retriever and check things out.
  8. Might be working past the flurries. Bigger flakes mixing in.
  9. I think it was HKYWX years ago that said it - I'm getting flurried to death
  10. Nothing after those flurries earlier but just saw pic from Wilkesboro and the roads were white. I'll take that as a good sign going forward.
  11. I know what you mean, but patience you might be in a real good spot for this one.
  12. You never know, but like our chances something like 2-4 or maybe 3-5 here north of 40 in Iredell County. Good luck to all.
  13. Noticing that. I think I will take my chances with hopefully more precip and hope for the best.
  14. Had a couple good sleet showers earlier, but not much now.
  15. Not saying it happens, but we are overdue for ice event
  16. Had thunder and pea sized hail about supper time. That was a first that I recall for NYE.
  17. Up to a dusting now, picked up quickly.
  18. Flurries and 32 degrees First flakes I have seen fall since Jan 2022
  19. Our son got home from App State today. Fortunately, we were able to communicate with him and knew he was ok. Worse thing was landslide blocked them into their apartment complex for part of Friday. They were able to get out Saturday and get some supplies but came home since no power and no class for days. He and his friends certainly were luckier than a lot of others. I had a bad feeling about this storm with all the rain in advance of the actual hurricane, but I'm still shocked at how bad it was and deeply saddened for WNC, E TN and all the rest.
  20. 3.75 here since Tues am. Feel for you folks in the mountains that are really getting hit hard.
  21. only 1.8" here but it was the perfect soaker
  22. 4" rain total here from the storm
  23. 3.8-inch rain since 7/24, and the crazy part is we have missed some big storms or gotten fringed, but still managed that much in basically a week.
  24. Just had heavy rain and small hail. Had some small hail Friday too and Saturday was about a washout of a day. The stormy week looks to continue if the forecast is right.
