Anyone getting excitement on a day 4 or great model run
Might as well enjoy the warmth. This is what our new normal is.

Still thinking 60 on Friday for MKE. Should be a really nice day and help alleviate the winter blues.

I wonder what ever happened to stormchasercanuk. I think hes checked in a few times over the last few years but dont know if he did last year.
Not him. This guy was called StormChaserChuck. -

GFS went from having the surface low over Indiana at FH126 to having it over Green Bay at FH084 on the 06Z run that just came in.
If it was April, I'd love that trend.
In April the surface low goes from putting us in warm sector to being 1000 miles south of us.

Started on The Weather Network (I believe that was the name of it) ran by StormChaserChuck and another guy named Kevin from Fond du Lac.

For April, yeah, even tho there was record warmth in the midst of the month last time. It ended split between W & E sub. The last 2 March's have been split between W & E and N & S sub, as well. March 20 & 21 were pretty warm. March has been tending back n forth, with April's staying cooler. If anything, we are due for a warmer April.
I think I lump March with April in my head. And April has stunk for a long time so I agree with you. There have been some decent March’s. -
April maybe, but 2020-2022 all featured warm Marches, so not a bad run.
It’s snowed more in April last few years than December. Lol.- 2

yeah, the terrible antecedent airmass (among other things) make this one an ez seller for now, too many things need to align just right to get these kinds of setups to deliver imby, especially this early in the season
Your coastal climate just changed to Ketchikan, AK.

No, it won't be long term, just a few days of significant cold in the mix. A more significant cold pattern won't show up until late Jan into Feb. I put my thoughts down in the winter thread, but just to remind folks:
1st half of Dec seasonable/warmer. 2nd half seasonable/colder. Jan will be mostly seasonable/warmer. Late Jan thru most of Feb will be seasonable/colder with late Feb turning seasonable/warmer. March....hmmm.... I guess a good word for that month would be flippant. Not unlike some posters here.
We are due for a significant run of above normal in March and April. That has been absent for last 10 years.

What are you seeing for the low temperature that day?
Here are the record warmest minima:
Currently, the NWS point-click forecast centered on MKE Airport has 54F/42F for the high and low, which would be the 4th warmest high and 2nd warmest low. Overall, the mean looks like it would be 2nd highest on record behind only 1946.
I think we start Friday morning around 45 or so. Winds look to keep up Thursday night out of the SSW, which will prevent temperatures from falling too far.

Friday has an excellent shot at MKE hitting 60 -- sun, favorable 850 temps, SW winds, great mixing and zero snow cover.

Maybe we actually get winter temps by January? December has become a lost winter month. We only get two months at best now.

Another sign of the rapid warming in last 30 years. Stats don’t lie.

Hoping the MJO visit to the warmer phase(s) is not a prolonged event.
Hoping it hangs out there all winter.
