    Don't think we will have date palms yet by then, but probably windmill palms and needle palms will make it through winters. I'll be 80 by then, so I'll be the old man yelling get off my lawn.

    Yep I still have a ton outside as well totally undamaged. This clearly shows how fast our early winters are warming.

    Yep December was a torch outside of that mini outbreak of cold air. It hit 60 in Milwaukee before New Years. Looks like this December is cooked. One of three winter months done. Two to go. Then the palms can come back out to play.

    Months ago I said we would have a January 2006 redux. I still think that. Winter is cooked in the Midwest.

    I didn’t have anything outside 2019 winter. I had a windmill palm that got over 15 feet tall in ground from 2008-2018 that I finally wasn’t able to protect because I needed scaffolding or boom lift. So I let it go. Now I’m getting back to stuff in the ground and experimenting with how much they can take.

    I still have unprotected palms out as an experiment this winter. Windmill palms and needle palms don’t blink twice at any of the forecasted temps.

    Keep what we have going for next 90 days. Definitely won’t complain.

    Looks like we have more palm tree weather than winter weather this year. I’ll definitely take this any day it’s delivered as each day like this makes one less cold day possible and one more day closer to spring.

    I think the mid afternoon high clouds did us in. All in all a beautiful day for December.

    Now you’re bargaining and coping because you can’t handle the loss of an entire winter month year after year. Winters are warming and we are witnessing the shoulder months going first. We aren’t at the point yet where January and first half of February go but it will happen soon enough.

    I know with winter days like this spring will be here before we know it.

    MKE beginning today at 46 should allow 60 to be realized as long as we can maintain sunshine and good mixing. This is a top shelf December day. Palm tree weather is back!
