I've done 2 PBP's this winter - the first was an epic run out of nowhere on a 12z GFS run that would have produced feet of snow if it would have materialized...sadly, and predictably, it did not. What I learned was that my PBP's produce a mixture in order of: excitement...hope...and ultimately...despair.

It's 60 here. Also, looks like we might see one more shower with the passage of the actual front.

Sometimes people tell me that I have a quick wit...obviously those people have never met you. How the hell you come up with this stuff on the fly is impressive...

MU tweeted this 2 minutes ago: I won't rule snow out, but there are no significant snowstorm signals for southern/eastern PA through the end of February.

That account helped me remember a little better. I think we must have had some pretty good winds with that as I found a picture with snow drifted over 5' high against our patio door.

This storm is one of the fuzziest in my mind of all the big ones going back to 1978. I remember it snowing all day Sunday, I remember that it seemed like it was a very long duration event, and I remember that the Hershey Bears had a home game on Sunday night that they decided to play. I think there was only 200 or so at the Giant Center. (I had season tickets at the time and did NOT make the trek up 743 to Chocolatetown, LOL) Sadly, nothing JB says anymore comes as a surprise. Though...I thought it was interesting that he of all people pulled the plug on winter.

Light rain and 58 currently. So far, .42" of rain has fallen for the event, .12" since midnight.

Tucson - I saw they had snow yesterday morning. Isn't Tucson like really far south in AZ?

Parking lot lights are on here at work - it is REALLY dark all of the sudden.

MU officially hit 80 on 2/21/2018. One month later...17" of snow fell.

MU Weather Center Showers and some embedded brief, heavier downpours are overspreading the region, and the air is actually unstable enough to support a few lightning strikes to the south/west of Frederick, MD. Is it May or February!?

No one posted the 12z GFS...and for good reason. It's pretty much void of any wintry weather through 3/4. There are several cutters to look forward to, however.

Rain has just arrived here, 60 degrees. Was 62 but dropped with the onset of the drops.

Another "casualty" of the warm weather...my grass has really greened up and is growing. Am I going to be mowing before February is out?

So true. I've been thinking the same thing. At least I'll be gone for most of May.

We lost the biggest snow hound in the world yesterday - Bastardi essentially said good night and a fond farewell to winter, and he was basing that on the MJO regressing back into 6 in early March. It's really bad when we lose JB.

Keep bringing those numbers my friend...

LOL - after my Roundtop comments, I check their website and find out they're closed today to "preserve the snowpack for the holiday weekend."
