  1. For almost all winter thus far, there has been no torch
  2. It’s notable to have ice storms in late March. I has to be one of the latest In recorded history
  3. Maybe not in those exact proportions, but the Triad has not lacked snow over the last decade
  4. Tim Buckley says computer models are suddenly “going nuts” with snow chances in the Triad tomorrow night, and he frankly doesn’t know what to think, but a coating to 1” is looking likely.
  5. Eric Webb @webberweather · 8m There's been a misconception floating around in the Carolinas for a long time that for Miller A winter storms, a parent sfc in the midwest is less favorable than one in Ontario/Quebec. When you actually look at these cases, this isn't true. Mar 1927 is yet another classic example
  6. Eric Webb: Nice discussion from NWS RAH earlier today. Agree for most part except regarding the apparent unfavorable sfc high position in the upper midwest. What's being forecast is a typical sfc location for a Miller type A (coastal low) winter storm in NC. https://t.co/kEBUdWtegv #ncwx https://t.co/cusy8hfRSS
  7. Whoever Forecasted 60 degrees in Winston today should learn a valuable lesson in NC CAD. This afternoon, it’s 37 degrees in Winston-Salem.
  8. Van Denton @VanFOX8Weather · 7m A day to watch. Thursday, Jan 28th. Since Monday on TV, I have been showing the Snow/Sleet odds and the chance has increased steadily for that day. From 20% on Monday, to 26% on Tues to 33% on Wed and today it is now showing 45%. Still no guarantee and also 7 days away.
  9. Judah Cohen: I believe that I have a reputation as one who hypes the #cold & #snow so here is a tweet for those who like their winters mild, not wild. Last night's GFS says "PV, shmevee!" i.e., despite the #PolarVortex's antics no meaningful cold for North America into the foreseeable future. https://t.co/sZ9U1PRc0m
  10. Leesburg’s snow climate is a world of difference from DC/Arlington’s.
