    Y’all, we are doing autumn right this year! Most or many of us had our last 90 degree temperature right after Labor Day, around September 9 or so. Nights thereafter have been mostly chilly, days mild to somewhat warm. The Triad has already had days with highs in the low 60s. Fireplaces have been started up, jackets are all the rage. I love autumn!

    Looks like we will be significantly above average next week, with a legitimate heat wave for almost the entire week. However, average highs are now dipping below 85 for the Triad, so it can be significantly above average and still be below 90 in this region during this stretch.

    GSO finally hit 90 at 3:00 observation, but yesterday’s high of 88 means no heat wave. Meh summer

    GSO maxed out at 88, at least a 7 degree bust for most tv forecasts, and about 10 degrees cooler than what GFS modeled
