I'm running about the same, avg high dew point for Aug of 75. Everyday has a had a 70+ dew at some point. 10 of which 75+
This evening ever since a t storm passed by (brunt of it to the N&W) dew point has spiked, as if it wasn't humid already
I was thinking the same thing..never did research on it but wet summer months I usually remember as below norm temp.
Here now 71 dew 70. temp/dews slowly falling thought I might make a run at a below 70 temp. Cant remember the last time i got into the 60s.
At rockaway now. Raging t storm just a block or so inland from the ocean. Sun and clouds at the boardwalk . Beyond that its looking wild.
Hoping it moves inland but its been stationary
Gullywashers out here lol.
When the rain looks to lighten up a little it reloads to a torrential downpour. Have a little bit of water coming under the door into basement now.
Nws went as far to say a tornado developing is not impossible within the severe tstorm warning
80, dew 62!
Feels bone dry after 75+ dews on a daily basis. I can notice the efficiency in the ac as well. Was really struggling to cool with very warm, extremely humid nights
2 people were struck by lightning in Flushing Meadows Park in Queens, one of which with life threatening injuries. Another person was struck on Baisley Blvd in Jamaica.
Got caught in that massive downpour. Some street flooding and lots of lightning. Tornado warning but no wind here just phone alerts going off like crazy
Seems like an isolated shower/storm forms on about the same trajectory everyday..Newark to Ft Lee to Wash Hts to West and Northern Bx. Sometimes multiple times a day. Basically NJ Turnpike to Cross Bx Expy.
Lga has been blowing past the Park all week. You'll see how some breaks of sun pushes LGA into the mid 80s easily while the Park still struggles to get out of the 70s
1993 superstorm..
Also blizzard of 96 (and the entire winter of 95-96). That was life changing to me at the time. Since I was in my teens by then I was able to have a better understanding of whats going on..at least as much as possible without the internet.
I had weather interests before those but my memory/knowledge is hazy. I kinda of remember some drought in the 80s, maybe Im wrong.
