JFK had a DP of 79 for a couple hrs. I dunno if they keep records of dew point between hourly obs.

High of 90 here. 6th 90 degree day. Spent the morn, early afternoon at rockaway, missed any storms. same thing in the bx except for a brief shower so far. Water temps at the Rockaways feel great, felt near typical peak warmth today. The forecast scared ppl off which made it even better without the crowds.

Lot of sun from the start, 84 dew 77 heat index 94.

79, dew 75 here. JFK is 76 dew 76

Was there and can confirm that, I was wayy out in mid calf deep water. Later in the day not as dramatic, had to head back closer to shore, didnt want to get stuck out there. I never knew long beach for that so didnt know what to make of it.

They reached 90, that's incredible for them. The record of consecutive 80+ was 4 I believe. Breaking an all time record by 5 is very impressive. Major heat (relative to normal) has been a common theme there. Imagine a high of 111 in the Park.

92 at home with a high of 93. At Long Beach now, where its feels less hot but more humid. Low 80s or so. Water temps warmed to cold but tolerable range. Big improvement from a couple weeks ago.

If it's any consolation most people get their weather from weather apps on their phone. Most apps just point to the closest official obs station, not holding central park in any special regard. For a large portion of NYC you'll get LGA readings and statistics.

Did Hudson valley bike ride, went though a couple t storms somewhere on the backroads of Dutchess county. Pouring rain and hail pelting you in the open with lightning all around you. Quite an experience. Took everything to not get blown off

Maybe not..rain with some blinding lightening, thunder, car alarms going off all over.

High was 94, now cloudy and 90 with lot of thunder. Looks like the heart of that storm is aimed more toward Harlem and south..

LI super humid still. Over here, LGA dew is down to 59 though. Unoffical readings around lows 60s in general

Yeah I noticed that too. Doesnt help there is zero shade here from mid morn to about sunset. Dew point is dropping steadily though cutting back on that heat index.

Ive heard the Saharan air riding the trade winds is also a factor in the record heat in Miami.

I was reading about this. Impressive. Doesnt stray from 88-92 much down there all summer. Of course with stifling humidity.

However LGA has a high of 90 already in between observations. The Park 89. JFK got there 90 too. Wall St heliport 91. Most of NYS Mesonet sites at the CUNY schools are 90. I keep rising at 92. As of now, every corner of the city has touched 90 at some point, except that spot deep in the middle of central park.

Looking at obs, JFK winds went SW around noon and S by mid afternoon. LGA got to 90.

Todays warmth and sunshine may set the stage for one of the next 2 days. Gotta dry out that area some to have a shot, absent of more intense mid 90s type of day. That or get to 90 before the mid/late afternoon shade sets in there.

Pretty unlikely. The Park actually dropped a degree since then to 85, while everywhere else continued to climb. The Park fell to the same temp as JFK despite the SW wind there. LGA 88 Newark 89 JFK 85. Temp by me just hit 90.
