Freeze watch for NYC...except for Staten Island and their suburban like overnights. Bye to the growing season. Still have a few plants holding on. FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Temperatures around freezing possible. * WHERE...New York (Manhattan), Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Northern Queens and Southern Queens Counties. * WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

A warm thanksgiving wouldn't be a bad thing. People will congregate together despite whatever rules are set. The more that can be outdoors the better. Another 70 degree Christmas might be needed too.

77 after high of 79. Sunny but hazy. Foilage the last several days has been some of the best I ever seen within NYC.

Air quality is bad. Air quality alert...and not just the more common "unhealthy for sensitive groups" level, but Unhealthy for everyone. Otherwise..sunny 76, calm wind

Yeah Ive noticed the range of low temps has been big and not just the usual radational cooling spread. NYC and LGA mornings will be around 60, but even close, fairly urban sites like EWR are in the 40s.

Had a high of 76..low was 57. Perfect day Now 72, parties in the street continue into the night Peak foliage here now too.

33. Can't remember an Oct low so cold besides the oct snowstorm got to 34. Peppers and some remaining tomatoes look unaffected. Central Park is currently 32, an Oct freeze technically. LGA 36, JFK 33, EWR 32.

Its possible to see some snowflakes mix in but its not snowing to the extent radar is showing

A little ironic remnants of a Tropical system here on the same day. Also yday a loose crane was spinning around in midtown sending chunks of metal to the street, reminds me of the damaged crane during Sandy.

37, sleet and a few snow flakes mixing in not long ago in the Bronx. Driving a few miles to New Rochelle now and just light rain. I'm moving here now, right on the Sound so I'll see how that changes things.

yup..I remember getting down to about 34, with 4" of snow/slop on grassy surfaces, trees etc. with an inch or 2 on pavement at times when it came down really hard. The heavy snow was relentless that's the only way it managed to acclumate. I couldn't believe my eyes, especially the tress mostly still full of green leaves covered in snow. Then it was gone soon after it stopped. It seem like over a foot of snow fell if it were able to all stick. One of the more surreal weather experiences, before I knew what the decade ahead had in store.

That sounds about right to me. NYC usually lags behind, then the foilage starts to really ramp up headed to Halloween, peaking in early Nov. The UHI ends up with shorter window to see real fall colors

Breaks of sun here now. Days got switched it seems. Yday was suppose to be the day with most breaks of sun, I saw none. Today is suppose to be almost no chance, and sunshine is breaking through now.

Mild morning but temps havent moved much since. Still struggling to 70. NWS forecast of 79 seems like a long shot. A nice day still but relative to forecasts a little disappointing.

Mostly sunny 55, low was 49, same as yday. Not so bad in direct sun but I could do without the 28 dewpoint.

I thought Denver had a shot but that blowout was shocking. I think Lakers in 6 though.

Air quality is still considered good. The smoke is too high to affect air quality at the surface. At least that is the offical forecast. For me the cooler, and espically drier air recently is an asthma trigger.

Quite chilly am. Mostly cloudy/hazy, breezy 51. First 50s went way down to near 50. Cooler than I excpected. Some upper 40s made it down to just about the westchester Bx line. Had to go searching for a hoodie. Cant remember last time I wore a long sleeve shirt.
