  1. Is it true that to derive the actual wind speed, on the right side of the storm, you take the windspeed and add to it the forward speed of the hurricane movement So a hurricane with a windspeed of 130mph and a forward speed of 20mph would produce an effective wind velocity of 150mph?
  2. And the hip is connected to the thigh bone; and so it goes. Being from the nonrtheast, Ive experienced enough busts so I shouldnt be surprised.. Tough to get the Big One to come to fruition.
  3. Loop current temps were around 87 degrees.. I wouldnt call that an inhibiting factor.

Mystifying how most of the models and forecasters predicted the most perfect environment for Helene to take off once in the gulf featuring lack of inhibiting delilmiters when in reality, its being seriously impeded by the ingestion of dry air to its detriment.. How is it that models failed to pick this up?

  6. Look at the cone depiction from 8pm. Its marked as an M at landfall.. On the latest, it shows H at landfall

  10. Does this mechanism have to do with that meso low which had been shown earlier but less prominent or not at all with 12z runs?
  11. What happened to that giant FU valley shadow in Ct the canadian models (and others) had been prominently showing? What feature of the forecast storm development changed to basically wipe it away on the 12z run(s)?
  12. UGH. Rain for almost everybody east of the CT river. Could it be focusing on the wrong low in that couplet?
  13. Central Gulf yet again?? I left noreaster territory in the hopes of nabbing a cane or two. This is definitely not my year.
