Night thunderstorms with lots of lightning are my favorite. We used to go to near Atlantic Beach, southern outer banks and that place was ideal for night storms. One time we had one that went on for an hour and there was so much lightning it was like a strobe light.
Sleeping weather.

Drinking a Ten Fidy Barrel-aged Imperial stout. A little burned out on IPAs.
Looking forward to my trip to the UK in 2 weeks. Some enjoyable and interesting beer drinking will happen there.
Just got off work at the brewery and sipping a whiskey. Kind of beer’s out

Oh, Kettering…

Nice out there this morning.
.31” from last nights storm.

Shorter days and longer evenings make September bearable.

Got out last evening in the Thurmont area to do a 27 mile three covered bridges ride (well, two because of construction), and then again this morning around home for another 25. Hot and humid but not terrible. Feels like summer should.

Best snow memory is ‘83 blizzard and standing outside in absolute deluge of snow listening to the huge flakes hit the ground and being scared to death by simultaneous bolt of lightning and crack of thunder. ‘79 blizzard is right up there too.
Best cold memory is the entire winter of ‘76-77. Not much snow but what fell was there forever. Skating and sledding for an eternity.

A few days ago I was followed by CWG on Twitter. I followed them for a LONG time.
This morning I got followed by Jim Cantore and Stephanie Abrams.
What on earth is happening?

1.1". Up to 3.1" for July now. A good couple days here.
About the same here today and about 4.25” on the month.

Os be kicking some ass. Heading into the all star break on a roll.
And less than a week ago I was thinking the break couldn’t come fast enough.

Anecdotal kinda useless.
Yet another heavy solid rain mass approached DC beltway and immediately decreased in intensity
Hell from PA to Richmond the DC metro took the lightest hit. Sometimes you just have to observe for a long period of time and multiple events and formulate an opinion rather than defaulting to textbook “oh that can’t be so”
How would DC beltway be that different from Bmore’s? We’ve done well up this way the past few weeks.

Ha, the main line somehow missed me, too. Beat goes on. Somehow going to have to water my grass today.
Line is really pushing east now. Seems FF threat has ended for about everyone except the city.
Sorry for those missing out. Storm dropped an inch here in about 30 minutes.

You are going to get PUMMELED! dude.
Went from zero to sixty quickly. Thunder, lightning, heavy rain. Thankfully, not a lot of wind so far. I need the electricity to stay on for the key letters.
AC and O’s.

I don’t want 3” of rain this afternoon. Another nice storm to add to my healthy recent totals is fine.
The way the radar is looking, I might not have a choice. That’s a really slow moving line.

Yeah, big winners seem to be whoever gets the cluster from Bmore down into Anne Arundel County and then northeast of there.

I think Bmore just got FFW.
I’m in it but shouldn’t be. Nothing to note here so far.
-
Pregame is starting to fire up around Bmore.

MLB, Peacock, Apple, MASN, et al, should be ashamed of themselves. The local team should be on TV in every MLB city for free.

Another ominous-looking forecast including a FFW, and dry as a bone again. Watch the big Sunday rain wording yield nothing as well
Sorry, bro. Been good for most of us. I wish we’d get a region wide day of rain with temps in the 60’s.

What is the timeframe used when making these maps? Do they update it like the temp charts (1990-2020)?
You’re quoting the wrong person. I don’t know.
@CAPE? Mets?

Over an inch in the Ville. I was out riding my bike when the storm blew Up over me. Then my pedal fell off.
Had to seek cover and phone a friend!

What are we all drinking?
Old fashioned mood here.
I blended up my mint, lemon, lime, and brown sugar, and now drinking that with rum for Southside.

Time to think cold. What is your favorite snow memory?
in Mid Atlantic

Yeah. I hung out with your brother in those fields until we stumbled across a copper head. I lived on Bennington up the street from you. Great memories of that neighborhood.
