It’s ridiculous that the O’s have 17 game stretch in the last month of the season.

So what are people drinking tonight. I am experimenting with some new fall bourbon cocktails. I need a signature cocktail for thanksgiving and figured this would be a good weekend to practice. Anyone have any favorites?
Fall old-fashioned. Go O’s!!
And, yes, stellar last sunset of the summer!

Getting lazy and especially cheap in my old age, but rather than buying too expensive white whiskey and infusing with apples and pears this fall, I bought a lousy 1.75L Jim Beam Apple whiskey and made my own brown sugar and cinnamon stick simple syrup for my fall old fashioned. I had to give one a try before heading out to cut the grass and it’s darn good. Not as good as the infused whiskey but it’ll do!
Looking forward to sitting on the porch this weekend!

3k nam looks to have the right idea. It's just a matter of where those bands rotate in off the Atlantic. Even the upslope mentioned earlier is there.

Just rehashing but according to the NHC discussion, Sixteen has estimated 50mph winds early this morning and could be Ophelia later today

That magic number of 7 is looking like a big number right now.
We need the bats to wake up the next few games because we need some lopsided wins to give these guys some rest.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the coastal flooding potential? Just guessing based on past events, but Alexandria, Annapolis, Fells Pt, etc, might have some issues during high tides over the weekend.

Even with an O's loss yesterday, it wasn't as bad with the Rays losing to the Angels. The Rays margin of error is razor thin, and they couldn't afford a loss like that yesterday.
O's magic number is 7 with 10 to play and the Rays have 9 to play. I'm certainly not hoping to limp into the playoffs, but even a 5-5 record against the Guardians, Nats, and Red Sox would probably be enough. Obviously, with an overworked pitching staff, the sooner we clinch the better, but the first round bye would be huge.

After the last 7 winters, I'm not going to believe until it happens.

Pitched liked a staff ace tonight.
Definitely needed that. Tomorrow could be a long day because of weather.

Poor Jet fans. Nice win last night but Zack Wilson as the starter for the whole season? All the SB hype/talk can stop now.
I went to bed at the half, but I can’t believe that they won.

Cashing in with the very last set of showers from this 4 day period. 1.75” at the neighbor’s PWS and counting.
1.61” here. I had no idea it rained that much.

Pretty rough day for Baltimore sports. Very sloppy and costly victory for the ravens and orioles are about to lose a game in the standings to the rays.
Call that game and get home.

Best nocturnal lightshow up my way in years!
After the main show while looking at some video we started hearing more thunder and went for another round just before midnight.
Finally finished processing long videos on youtube.
The first round (time at money shot, as everyone loves bolts!):
The audio quality is quite nice, headphones highly recommended!
And just a few minutes ago, after checking radar I thought why not, checked the tower PTZ and sure enough that anvil is firing bolts into clear air! I've only seen this from airplane windows.
Amazing nocturnal activity for September.Put that second one on a loop for sleeping!

We likely caught a break playing that four game series against the Rays as they were finishing up their own 17 straight game stretch. The difference though is their pitching depth. They are better equipped for that kind of schedule.
I wish that the O’s had addressed the pitching a little more at the trade deadline. Flaherty hasn’t been good, but maybe he can offer us some long relief today. Means can’t, or shouldn’t go more than 80 pitches. And hopefully we get a quality start from Gibson tomorrow.
