Where's all my Cat 2 Micheal rain???  This thing is a total bust.  There is no data showing that we will get any good weather from this storm.  Ariel photos will verify what i'm saying.

I'm waiting for you to get inundated with mermaid photos.

With the turn to fall weather coming this weekend, is it too late to throw grass seed down in a yard with a thin lawn? It is a relatively small front yard as it is a townhouse, and the yard gets full afternoon sun. In the backyard, I put down a large amount of grass seed, new lawn fertilizer with weed preventative, and covered it with straw last weekend. The seed has germinated nicely, and is now almost 2ish inches in height.

It's not too late, but if you get leaves in your yard during the fall, you may want to mow them up regularly rather than raking to not damage the newly germinated seed.

    Going to be gross today.

It was 78f and humid in deep creek yesterday.  81f in Oakland.  77f passing through Davis.  Came down the mountain and car thermometer hit 88f in moorefield.  75f and completely sunny at 530 when I got home.  Cooler here than the mountains all weekend.  Smh.

Sure was neat doing all the waterfall hikes in the wet period though.  Have so many good pics and memories.

Maybe you should drop your photos in the fall photo thread. It's nice to find them easily and compare from year to year. Just a thought.

Just put down grass seed so I hope that line of showers holds together.

It looks like you're getting a good soaking. We are getting some good thunder from that storm up here.

I got lucky and put my seed down two weeks ago just before we got the 8 straight days of rain, and much of what's germinated gets its first mowing tomorrow. It's come in really well.

NWS needs a dense fog advisory. I drove from Columbia, MD down to Colesville, MD in the past 25 minutes and visibility is in the toilet. Much better near water sources but elsewhere the fog is so thick I missed the exit to the ICC because I couldn't see it.

You're right.  Traveling 70 west, from the Patapsco river bridge and points west, it's really thick.

I finally got some yard work done this weekend including aerating, but now I have all this grass seed ready to spread and overseed and it’s done raining. Should I wait for rain or just put it down now?

I'd put it down. Until it gets watered, it'll just sit there and there's no harm. Once it gets watered, then I'd try to keep it damp with a light spray in the AM and PM. It won't take much, especially because you've aerated. Enough seeds will find their way into the holes which is the ideal medium for germination, and that will happen with just light, persistent watering.

Wilson has an in person suspension hearing Wednesday morning... lol.  Won't be watching that banner going up

No big deal. He'll be there for next year's. ;)

It's pure torcher but I only try to set you guys free by letting you know that the background signal indicated futility in the snow department. Is that not why we are here? Sure I enjoy a cool fall day but i'm not sure if anyone wants cold without the snow.

Ugh.  Speaking of torture, where's Mattie with his correction fluid?

    Any flooding there

A lot of standing water because the ground is so saturated but we are into the lighter returns now so the ground should recover quickly. The thunder and lightning won’t quit though. It’s very impressive!

12z GFS advertising a pretty wet period tomorrow through Thursday. Maybe 2-3" across the area. (except for my yard and the NPZ desert)

Just in time too! It’s been so wet that I am just getting around to aerating and seeding for the fall today.

It’s good to see the board is back up.

Given the rainfall rates and totals overnight, I was surprised there wasn't a lot more flash flooding around the area. Seems like very few problems, if any.

I think the MARC Camden Line was closed all day due to high water, but I agree with you.  Though I didn't see or hear any of it. It was the best night of sleep I've had in a long time...

Co-sign on the two rounds of storms for Baltimore - first cluster at 11 pm and then a hellacious storm around 2:30 am. That one must have been a tremendous lightning show.

3.6" for the inner harbor in a four hour period overnight. If anything happened here, I slept right through it.

Washington is just a terrible franchise. What a game.

I have so many great memories (and bad ones, like Clint Longley) of the Skins, their games, and their players, but whatever mystique they had to me has faded over the years. There are a lot of reasons that contribute to that, but a big one for me is that they lost something in the move from D.C. and RFK stadium to Landover and that concrete pit that they play in now. I remember as a kid going to a couple of games at RFK stadium with my Grandfather who had season tickets until his death in '71, and then I worked as a beer vendor for the last seven seasons there, and nothing compared to the atmosphere and fans of RFK. I was there for the seat cushion game and the rout of the Lions on their run to the Super Bowl, but even in the lean years, there was just something unique about RFK.  I worked exactly one game at the new stadium and didn't go back because it was totally different and just felt off. I'm surprised that they've managed to have the support of the fans for as long as they have, but today, after over 50 years, they didn't sell out the stadium. And it wasn't even close.
