I think the record stretch is 25 days of no precip.. We'll run it close but it looks like a good chance for rain on Monday. If anything the smoke has made for some amazing sunsets.
Low of 44 last night, and smoky skies again this morning. Definitely chilly for June. Its probably due to the lack of rain but there are no flies or mosquito's yet which is strange.
We've had an incredible start to Summer... weeks of dry and sunny weather. We really need the rain though... can't recall a time that yards were starting to brown out in early June. Late May/early June is usually the peak time for lawns. Smoke is super heavy today -- looks like a dense overcast out there.
Most of the accumulation happened between 4-6 am. Definitely an impressive set-up for May - where was this all winter?! We had around an inch but enough to make the trees with flowers and leaves to sag significantly.
Woke up to snow cover this morning. Plows were out removing slush from the roads. If any more had accumulated there would have been tree damage. Temp is now up to 35 so everything is melting. Very little accumulation in areas below 1,000 ft.
The past few days have been awful. We got spoiled by the earlier warmth. At least everything is green again... foliage is definitely ahead of schedule. It was 28 IMBY this morning so anything that was flowering took a hit.
This past Winter was the low water mark out this way. Can't remember a worse winter for snowfall.
Beautiful day out there today with full sun... even with temps in the 30's it feels nice. Would almost rather miss at this point. But it will be a scenic wet snowfall.
Ha. Good point. This "winter" is in rare territory for snowfall futility. Here's the snowfall map for 2011/2012. Not even close to 60" here at this point. We'll see what happens from here on out... hopefully Friday trends in a good direction.
Definitely a record setter. Probably around 30" or so inches around here. Couldn't imagine being a snow lover and living in an area that only averages 30-40" per season. Yeah, hopefully the coin flips next year.
I was surprised by the amount of ice out this way. Everything is still glazed over. Hoping the mild weather continues at this point. Despite the ice today, it has looked and felt like Spring.
