  1. I agree. It’s really only the extreme southern parts of St. Mary’s and Calvert where totals drastically drop as you head down. I grew up in Northern St. Mary’s county on the Charles County line and we typically did just as well as everyone near the city. It’s a huge misconception about how little snow we get. Do we get as much as the mountains or even upper Montgomery? No. But I can tell you as a native southern Marylander I’ve seen it go from 6” at my house to zippy about 15 min south of there. The One thing we typically battle with strong coastal lows is the mixing of sleet at times which can diminish overall accumulations depending on the track.
  2. And it’s proximity to the Potomac River.
  3. DCA: Nov 20 BWI: Nov 12 IAD: Nov 7 RIC: Nov 19 Tiebreaker: October rainfall at IAD. 2.44"
  4. I wouldnt avoid his forecasts, just maybe personally interacting with him... Hes a good meteorologist, just a bit conceded.
  5. Just measured 8.5-9” in Prince Frederick. Unreal how the banding that set up was able to overcome marginal temps and March sun angle. If this was mid jan it would be feet..
  6. Sweet! I know exactly where ya are! I just bought a deep freezer off someone who lives on Miss Sams way last week.
  7. Oh yea, Big Giant flakes mixing in now. We have a nice coating of sleet for it to lay on!
  8. I wouldnt worry about what NWS is saying now. We have to see how the storm develops and if we can get heavy banding to help out. I think a layer of ice and sleet is nice for the snow to stick to.
  9. Its about 80% Sleet 20% Snow about 2 miles east of Prince Frederick. Temps Steady at 32f
  10. Good news is it is snowing in our county.. http://www.chart.state.md.us/video/video.php?feed=dcffb99000fa00c80054fa36c4235c0a
  11. Yes! I noticed that too when I woke up this morning. I think we start seeing more and more snow mix in as layers cool.
  12. Good Morning Fellow Southerners... Working From home today in Central Calvert County. Sleeting pretty heavily at the moment. 32f and 31 dew.
  13. Let me know what we got!? I went in to work this morning and by guessing it looked like somewhere between 4-6". Sixes Rd, Adelina, 231 and Rt. 4 were all garbage all the way up to work. Got here to Lanham and it looks like they got maybe 1"
  14. Obviously here too! I mean you live like 2 miles from here!
  15. Hoping for an overperformer! Sitting here in Calvert County wishing I didn’t have to work tomorrow or Friday because I would have packed the wife and kids up and headed to the in-laws in Bridgeville, DE! Good luck to all, I hope we’re all happy when we wake up!
