  1. Hit 99 here. My phone as well as another poster reported a high of 100 in parts of Enfield. Absolute inferno with dews running 73-76 during early afternoon. Went to my mother in laws in East Windsor where it was 98/75 and the pool was 85 degrees. Felt like swimming in the Gulf of Mexico.
  2. 93 for the high around here but it took awhile to shake off the high clouds. Probably could have pulled a 95/96 with more sun. Anyways, day 2 officially although Friday was a brief touch at 90 with most of the heat of the day at 88-89. Tomorrow will be nasty around here, I will be straight from my mother in laws pool to the AC. 99/72 with HI 106-110 during peak heating will be fun.
  3. Was down at the RI shore today as well, near Watch Hill and Misquamicut. Beautiful day. Mid 70's with a late P.M sea breeze and plenty of sun overall. Nothing like body surfing and boogie boarding with the kids, although my wedding ring got knocked off riding a wave and was unable to find it. Picked up a quick low budget ring and re-enacted a quick wedding with the kids which was good for some laughs. Wish I had the whole week off but my vacation comes later next month.
  4. Man I've been crazy busy didn't get a chance to post but man was than an impressive storm/monsoon here in Enfield on Sunday. Wife got caught in nasty flash flooding near the mall, water way up near the top of the tires. She got home with blinking lights that shut off and than went back on by themselves due to water getting into the electrical which drained and killed the battery. Drought busting rains around here for sure. I'm sure the heat will do a number on the lawns again by this time next week.
  5. Typical decent non severe storm here. Enough wind and lighting to grab your attention and make you watch but just never got to that next level of damaging. Torrential rain pulled some of the gutters off.
  6. I'm not an English teacher but the grammar sounds off a bit unless that is the intent with the repetitive title. Perhaps a "Dawn to Dusk or "From Dawn until Dusk" may be options if those names are not already taken.
  7. Sorry to hear that man but thankfully no major damage to the house.
  8. I will say the sky driving home from WIndsor to Enfield was the worst I've seen since probably 2011. Low hanging shelf clouds, dark as night with a green tint. All street lights were on and you had the feeling all hell could break loose but it wasn't as bad as it could have been here.
  9. 3 minutes of hail that partially covered the ground and maybe 45 mph winds. Crazy lightning. Overall a good but not great storm here.
  10. Pretty meh here as expected. Some decent showers and not a lick of thunder/lightning.
  11. Man the storm sucked here but 2.9 is ridiculous. You need to check the time stamp on that. 4 is the absolute minimum I could see posted here and 5 is more realistic. BDL came in at 7 and there was better banding west of the river but I would toss the 2.9
  12. GFS was actually pretty decent here. Terrible elsewhere. I think the banding setup just killed us and this was not just a function of elevation. If the storm track was a bit closer to the coast we would have gotten into the CCB but being between the western deform bands and the CCB combined with the valley and time of day was just a killer. We probably would have done better with the prior tracks that were a bit further offshore as well. Anyways Congratulations to Ray and all the big winners tonight. A historic night for some and one helluva storm. Can't say we haven't had our share of tracking to do here in this action packed March.
  13. Not using a board here so I suppose official totals would a bit more. Current depth is 4.2. .4 new past hour. I'll go with a 5 spot. Official protocol may have been closer to 6 here with board/clearing etc,. but I'm usually not around during an entire storm.
  14. I'll go with 4.5 here, current depth is 3.8 after melting, sublimation etc. Steady light snow.
  15. For every 10 storms around here it seems as though 6-7 underperform, 2-3 meet expectations, and 1 suprises and that might be generous. I can't blame the western mass guys out of Springfield for being so conservative sometimes. It's usually a zero sum game around here. Either the CCB banding parks itself right overhead or we get a perfect deform for hours or things just crap out and it's arctic sand and when temps are marginal early and late season there is no margin for error. . With most of the biggies it seems as though the beginning of the storm usually starts slow and you feel behind the 8 ball trying to catch up. Just about at climo for the year now so I guess I should be grateful for that.
  16. I'm supposedly under darker returns on radar now, snow growth has improved and I've gone from flurries to light snow lol. Was out earlier so not sure what my peak depth might have been but I'm about 3-3.5 on the grass right now.
  17. Just a horrible combination of in between banding features, low elevation, and time of day. Areas to both my west and east have done better than here. Even most of the Berks and Litchfield Hills is 6-12. Only positive is faster melting and less cleanup but really a big time disappointment overall.
  18. Awful storm here. Paltry rates most of the day. Maybe 3 on the grass. Sky brightens at times, main roads are melting, band is sitting 3 miles to my west for about 4 hours. Porked .
  19. Hoping for a foot here. 10 might be more realistic. Maybe a smaller shot at 14-16 if ML fronto banding parks overhead. Less than 8 would be disappointing.
