  1. So isn’t that valid on Wednesday evening at 7pm? 75 degrees at 7pm…that would be cool to see.
  2. You just described the 80’s to a T. You’re way to young to remember it though.
  3. A month from now on December 4th or 5th, and a little beyond that…that’s pushing it imo. Again, not expecting any wintry weather in most of November is fine by looking ahead. But towards the end of November is starting to be a stretch imo, Because as you said, things can be snuck in towards the end of that period as well. But we got peeps writing off all kinds of stuff now, cuz that’s what happens in here.
  4. But that’s not what I was saying either. I was talking about December mostly. Some think because we don’t get snow in December, winter is a bust. We have others on here that seem at least, to want to cancel winter altogether. I was just giving my take. And also to reply to Scott’s response about negative takes, I’m fine with them…but not saying it at 4-6 weeks out..:I’m sorry, I don’t go along with those. Maybe Two weeks out..ok. But Not a month out. Too much can happen in 4 weeks time, that can change that look imo.
  5. Thing is, it’s not even late fall yet. Another 3 weeks or so it will be getting there though. But even 8 years ago…in the Super Nino of 2016, you guys killed it with the monster blizzard there in the city. That missed most of SNE(Southern CT did well. Here in central CT I got about 10-12 from it. But Once north of here it dropped off dramatically). So shit happens.
  6. It’s all good guys. Spirited discussion is good. Some good points on both sides of the coin. Maybe it never really gets conducive for much snow this year? Maybe we time some good shortwaves right? So many variables that can produce, or not produce snow here. Gotta just roll the dice and see how we do. As with most everyone else in here, I’m hoping for some decent events. If we see none, then what can you do.…
  7. If you guys want to worry yourselves over something you can’t possibly know at this stage, that’s up to you all. I choose not to, and look forward to how things will play out. Maybe it’ll suck ass, and we won’t get an inch of snow this whole winter. I guess it can happen right? But That would be kind of fun in its own right though too…
  8. Ya..he doesn’t want to listen to this hyperbole BS. I don’t blame him.
  9. And to be honest…if December ends up sucking, that certainly doesn’t mean the whole winter will suck either. Yes, I like December snow as much as anybody, but sometimes it just doesn’t snow alot here in SNE in December..and that’s just how it goes, more often than not. I’m not a fan of that, but that is how it goes many times. But I certainly hope we get some winter action this December as much as anybody.
  10. But we just got into November ? And there are things that can’t be seen at this point, that can shake that up at any point, and in both directions. So that is always a distinct possibility as well.
  11. Listen, I don’t pretend to know how much snow we’re gonna get. All I know is that it will snow here in SNE this winter. Long range forecasting is a crapshoot at best…just look at what happened with the hurricane season forecast, it was a complete bust. So I mean I put very little faith into anything that is 4-6 weeks out at this moment. And for the heart of the winter we are 2.5-3 months out…so unless somebody has a crystal ball, I’m not buying into anything on 11/4. But that’s just me. If you guys want to worry yourselves to death, that’s up to you.
  12. You’re saying this on November 4th? And Maybe it is…we had the same shit for many winters back in the 80’s too…and it sucked. But It happens. So now you’re a fan of week four and five on the weeklies?
  13. We got a month before December arrives…and then it’s 5-6 weeks until the middle of December. Ya can’t know what can happen in 4-6 weeks from now either. And if December isn’t good…oh well. Summer sometimes doesn’t get warm/hot until we get to July many times. We will see how it plays out. Years ago this stuff used to worry me, and piss me off too. Not so much anymore. Winter will come..that is a fact.
  14. We should be kicking the can into December anyway. There were many years on end when it never snowed ntil January here when I was growing up.
  15. Ya,…I’m not worried. We’ll all be fine. It will snow. Probably not as much as we’d all want it too, but it will snow.
  16. It may never snow again, if ya listen to some folks here. Too much hyperbole.
  17. It’s sucked in the 80’s. An inch or two of snow, then sleet, freezing rain, and rain to wash it away, then cold for a few days to refreeze a lil crust. Then rinse and repeat. That was the “new norm” then for almost a decade. 2-4” and 3-6” were great storms. If ya got a 4-8” er it was a big win..but that was rare. A foot was a unicorn.
  18. Lol…new norm, what a ridiculous term. Last year it rained constantly..every weekend practically. And it rained right up until mid August. Was that the new norm? Now we dry, and sunny for the last 11 weeks. So we did a complete 180, and now thats the new norm now too. I guess everything is the new norm. Silly terms.
  19. Think what you want. This has been great. I’ll take this every autumn. But It will flip at some point. So certainly not worried about that at all. Back when I grew up all my life here, there were so many years, where it wouldn’t really snow(outside of a rogue flurry or squall) at all, until into January. That was the norm many of the years. It’s all good. We enjoy the great weather while we have it.
  20. Not so much excited about frosts, but I was only pointing out that it’s been an incredible autumn if you like great weather. We get cool a few days, and then we get warm for a few. And there's been frosts and freezes also…then repeat. Ya, dry as a bone…but the vehicles stay clean for a couple weeks at a clip which is nice. You get excited about a few acre brush fire …so ya, to each their own for sure. It’s all good. Gonna be another nice day.
  21. Who said wintry? Nobody said wintry. It shouldn’t be wintry in early November anyway. C’mon, you’re getting silly now. It’s been a fantastic autumn. We’ve had some of everything. Pretty much everybody has had a frost. A lot of us have had freezes. Nothing fake about it having at least a half dozen frosts, and a few freezes. Hopefully your peppers are still alive. You’re about the only one, or two who hasn’t frosted/or froze.
  22. What an autumn…best of our lives. Frosts and freezes at night a few times a week. A few days of crisp autumn temps each week, then a few days of temps that rebound back into the 70’s each week. And every day sunny. I mean, what’s not to like? Its the best of all worlds. Just a Sensational fall for SNE. Let’s keep it going.
