Well this is a valid point. But I’m also not too confident with anything this winter. This winter has humbled and surprised a lot of us, and not in a good way more often than not. This is gonna morph some more most likely going forward…5 days out is a long time especially this winter.

No Kev, the one before that. That was all everybody was saying/thinking too with that…things like, it’ll bump north, they always do etc…it never did. It actually went the opposite way, and we got very little, but it got us on the board. That was the one where me and Luke went back and forth. Lol.

But it’s 5 days out so this too will morph, that high looks like it means businesses. Everybody said this exact same thing in December. Now I realize that this is different…one thing different is the big high this time that looks anchored in. I agree with Seymour…we shouldn’t be too confident in either direction. If one thing this winter has shown us, it is it’s ability to buck the expected trend.

I remember the lil 1-2 incher back in December (first snow of the year for us)…we all thought that was going north too…and everybody kept saying the same thing, and it never really did. A few runs it did, but then slid south and we pretty much lost it..save for the 1-2” that got us on the board. This year I don’t trust anything…especially at 5 days out.

Ahhh it’s a long way out…it’ll morph and change many times over the next 3-5 days. At least it’s something worth keeping an eye on.

Ya that’s not bad…but most didn’t see those winds outside of the coast and up high. Breezy and gusty sure, but nothing out of the ordinary for 98% of the forum.

Not all of Maine. Im heading up this afternoon….northern Maine is buried, and they are under a winter storm warning as we speak for 5-11”. No worries from Presque Isle on up. Southern Maine got decimated. But they always do.

No, certainly not a lock for sure at a week out. But EC carries much less weight than it used to. That model is a mere shadow of its former self…very sad.

Ya I agree, always take the under on winds. I mean ya…let’s lose some power, and cancel school tmrw, and I can leave for sledding in the am. I’d be down with that. But that’s a huge long shot for sure.

Ya mid February is a lil early to be checking out imo. If the pattern was looking lousy, then that idea I could certainly understand. But that doesn’t seem to be the case…at least not currently.

Ahh, sorry to hear that. Ya, I’m very much in wintertime mode in mid February. Heading up north Friday for some big riding, so for me this is the height of the season. I’d love to come home mid next week, and have things evolving in a wintry way as we head toward the end of the week. That would be great after returning from a big sledding trip. But that’s just me.

We’ll to be fair…when you’re in the bullseye of a huge blizzard…it’s much easier to be optimistic afterwards. And also, one should be satiated after experiencing such an event. But I agree, it’s is much nicer than the constant whining and mehing all the time. Hopefully the effects are long lasting….?
