  1. How do you figure out how old those tress/logs are that are laying on the wall?
  2. What is the significance of this…in late October? The fact that the split PV comes to our side of the globe?
  3. Lots of Beer? But ya, he’s not right all too often. And makes tons of grammatical mistakes all the time…he called autumn 2020, autumn 2002 lol.
  4. Seriously Doubt it(forecast high for tomorrow is 65-66 here). But if we do it’ll be very short lived.
  5. Lol…folks just being funny and stirring the pot, trying to spur conversation, nothing more. All these outlets obviously have their own ideas…just like last year, doesn’t mean any are correct lol.
  6. We won’t be seeing mid 80’s that’s for sure. Maybe..maybe 70, and that’s the end of next week. Last week some thought we’d be seeing 70 or over for the end of this current week, and that isn’t going to materialize. So let’s see how this next warmer potential looks by Monday?
  7. First week of October…mid 80’s John. That was summers last gasp. That early September wave was a scorcher…best of the summer season, and right at the end. But that was still technically summer obviously.
  8. Always. But it hasn’t been real warm either. So I mean it’s just been autumn in SNE. Except for the first week(which was very warm-mid 80’s, the last blast of summer as Dendrite mentioned), it’s been cool to mild at times. Nice weather during the work weeks lol.
  9. In 21 we had two big ones, one in Dec of of ‘20(16th into the 17th 12-18”), then another big one Feb 1st here…was a real good one(another 12-18”). Then another nice one where we picked up 8-9” a week later(Feb 7th). I’d have to go back and look to see the exact amount I had for 21, but it was way over half of average. 21 was quite decent here.
  10. Yup. But the sunrises keep getting later til after the new year…at least we can look forward to that a little longer. But Then spring is just about here by that time anyway, so maybe not even that. Ahh well, another winter in the books.
  11. And it doesn’t get to me as much anymore either. Disappointing..yes, as you said. But as you also pointed out, it’s just weather now. Love the excitement of an approaching winter potential as much as I ever did. But if things don’t pan out, it’s not as much of a let down anymore either. But we will do better this year than last. I’m Standing by that idea.
  12. We aren’t Scott. I think you know this too. It won’t be last year…and that’s all I/we need to know. It will be better. Even if I finish at 30” this year, which is 18-20” below normal, it’ll feel big. It’s a win win this year due to last year being so dam bad. The bug and cricket, and the fake cold BS talk is fun…and sparks conversation, which is good, but we all know it means nothing in the grand scheme of things, on what the winter will bring. Like I said above, we had posts last Thursday/Friday talking about 70 plus for this eeek…that won’t be happening. Nice autumn cool shot coming early next week now. And all of a sudden Halloween looking quite crisp now(after the blowtorch look of prior runs). But we have bug and cricket and mosquito talk, and endless summer talk. Either way…I’ll be sledding in N. Maine as I always do, and that gets me my fill, whether we rat or not. But as of now, I don’t see a rat walking in again. So I’m the record saying so.
  13. Where’s the blowtorch for Halloween? And the 70’s for this week that were talked about last week? That has backed off too. It goes both ways.
  14. Love the comedy this morning. We are right where we should be despite the comical posts today…good stuff. Most inland locations will most likely frost early next week. And if not, then the Halloween cold shot, that was supposed to be a big warm shot lol will do it. Everything is on track.
  15. Yesterday it was a blowtorch. Now it’s looking much more in check. Step down in progress.
  16. On 10/18? It’s Just the normal pot stirring. Folks drumming up conversation.
  17. We had posts last week saying maybe 70’s for this week…not gonna happen. Halloween still up in the air? Things are progressing as they should. Stepping down incrementally as is, is how things go. A few mild days here and there, are normal and how things work in autumn in SNE. And does not constitute endless summer at all. We good. We going in the right direction. This will not be last season..that’s all you need to know on 10/18.
  18. Lol good one. But Actually if there are valid reasons for an off winter, by all means bring them to the forefront. But Because Halloween “may” be mild, and there hasn’t been a frost so far this autumn in SNE, those aren’t valid reasons in my opinion. Those are just items some folks choose to use to stir the pot. Those have no bearing on the upcoming winter season whatsoever. And Last year, we had some just doing persistence forecasting. That’s not a valid reason either. Last winter we had changes that did come, changes that were positive, and should have delivered, but there was always some other negative that more than offset the positive changes. That’s the definition of a True Rat. We are in a whole new regime for this year…totally different set up and set of drivers. It will be different than last year. We will do better than last year(because we really would have a very very tough time doing any worse here in SNE). That’s my stance and prediction. So Not going off on anybody at all.
  19. So easy to get all these 3 letter abbreviations mixed up, along with all their positive and negative siblings….and how they all affect outcomes…lots to(too much sometimes) remember.
