  1. THV: 99 MDT: 98 LNS: 98 Highest dewpoint 79 at MDT
  2. We had season tickets back then - that place was a total dive haha.
  3. Growing up in Dallas everyone talked about the summer of 1980 and how it was just relentless heat. Every July day was 100+ and that summer Dallas had 28 days above 105. I was born in 81 so just missed out! In the early 90s we had some terrible summers where we would always get a string of 103+ days but it'd be broken up by mid 90s. 2011 was a brutal Texas summer too but nothing will top 1980 in Dallas.
  4. Excessive heat warnings coming from CTP later, according to their disco.
  5. The Dauphin County Brewfest is next Saturday. I might be too hot to drink.
  6. If you like soft pretzels, theirs is one of the better ones you’ll find outside Germany.
  7. I can’t imagine taking a bus to Troegs on a Saturday in the summer. We avoid it like the plague from June through September...
  8. Nice spot - you aren’t missing much though I think their wine sucks. If the Lancaster Cupcake truck is there today buy a few. They’reTHE BEST.
  9. To sum up the next 10 days: damn hot and damn dry
  10. We didn’t get much rain at all. Speaking of wasn’t it supposed to rain all night? It’s sunny and the radar is currently empty.
  11. My father was a volunteer fireman in Texas for many years and we'd go to all sorts of training events so I've seen my fair share of FDs. I honestly think Harrisburg's is one of the best I've ever seen. They're incredible.
  12. My bad. I often confuse those two (well I forget HFD has it’s own water training division).
  13. River Rescue was out training and they observed a kayak with two youngish dudes going near the dam, passing all marked buoys and warnings. RR went to aid them and while trying to prevent the kayak from going over they both did. No real injuries thankfully. That dam is incredibly dangerous and people are idiots for getting anywhere near it.
  14. SE/SC Louisiana might be in for a world of hurt. Those people are so special, it hurts my heart.
  15. I’ll be back home in Texas for a week in mid August. I can’t complain about anything herewith that coming soon lol.
  16. Hopefully it's not as humid as last weekend. Heat - as much as I complain - is fine if it's not hanging with a dewpoint in the mid 60s+.
  17. Yeah I saw some posts about heat building next week. Hopefully you're right about the future being a bit cooler though. It's hot out today - I just walked back from the capitol and my I'm sweaty. It's about a 1/4 mile walk ...
  18. We were in Alaska in late May and it hit mid 70s every day essentially, and was bone dry. They were terrified of fires and they've already had many. Will be a long, rough summer for the NW which is incredibly dry and hot.
  19. Check out the MA thread - DC and environs got HAMMERED this morning with 6"+ rain. Tons of flooding, people having to be rescued on roads, etc. Bad stuff down there.
  20. You got hammered, as did the guys down in Adams County. A lot of that rain this past week missed the city, we did get an inch or so Saturday night and it rained last night but wasn't hard until this morning. The heavier stuff split the city last night, kind of neat watching that on radar.
  21. We rarely ever get good thunder. Tonight was A+.
  22. Susquehanna Twp apparently has a lot of trees down. The wife is huddled in the car but rain has reallllllllly lightened up so I told her she can go ahead and get in the security line, doors have opened now.
  23. The wife is leaving now to go to the New Kids on the Block show at Hershey Stadium Should be .... interesting
