I know its the law in NH/ME but i don't know about other states but clean the ice and snow of your vehicles as i was close to getting killed Saturday when a sheet of ice came off a truck heading in the opposite direction and hit my door post taking out my windshield and driver side mirror.
Its fickle to say the least, Could have a long season, Could have a short one, But like he said, Can't make up for what time you lose once the sap changes in the tree.
Everyone shakes there head about how bad this winter has been and rightfully so, But when you have guys boiling sweet water to make maple syrup in early Feb, You know temps have been above normal.
Its Western Maine but your close...lol, Must be a 6-8 hr ride from CT for you to get to the county? I never have to travel more then 2 hrs to ride and if things are right in a good winter, I ride right out the door here to any where in this state.
Been all over those areas over the years, The one issue is fuel in the remote areas so you have to carry in if your going to ride the extreme NW area towards Dickey, Stayed on Moosehead in the summer too, Great fishing on the lake and a great area to ride, The whole region is amazing really.
In winters past, When i would be riding this area, The snow would be up to the bottom of the sign, Not this year so far, There was more snow up here this weekend then down home, But that's still not normal for the Eustis area........
Depends on the application you're using it for, I've hauled 12,000lb trailers and a few cords of green oak but that's what necessitates the need for the type of vehicle.
