NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
1030 AM Update... A significant storm system will continue to
impact the region through the remainder of the day with flooding
rains, damaging winds, and coastal flooding. Latest RAP13 sfc
pressure analysis shows a low pressure center along the VT/NY
state line along with another low off the New Jersey coastline.
Northeast radar mosaic shows heavy rainfall continuing to stream
northward with a convective line moving NNE over eastern CT.
Will continue to monitor convective trends through the day as
these will be capable of producing very heavy rainfall rates
and they will be capable of mixing down the 90+ kt LLJ. Went
ahead and upgraded interior York and Strafford to a high wind
warning based on latest guidance as well as obs and expanded the
wind advisory further inland. Also issued a hurricane force wind
warning for the outer waters off the Mid Coast. If possible
please stay away from forested areas and heed any flood
warnings.
