Yeah it's ridiculous to cancel things for severe t-storm threats because t-storms are so unpredictable. You cancel a game for a steady rainstorm, not scattered t-storms. Crazy but as you said, the hype is ridiculous and leads to bad decisions.

Unlike snow the general public doesn't know you can't really pinpoint where severe weather is going to occur. It seems as though the hype that 60 million people were in line for severe weather and possible tornadoes was enough to cause major cancellations across the board
